When to adjust alpha during multiple testing
Scientists often adjust their significance threshold (alpha level) during null hypothesis significance testing in order to take into account multiple testing and multiple comparisons.

Transfer Learning in Multiple Hypothesis Testing
In this investigation, a synthesis of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Bayesian inference is presented, leading to a novel approach to the problem of Multiple Hypothesis Testing (MHT). Diverging from traditional paradigms, this study introduces a

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

An investigation of delay fault testing for multi voltage design
Multi Voltage Design (MVD) has been successfully applied in contemporary processors as a technique to reduce energy consumption. This work is aimed at finding a generalised delay testing method for MVD.

Testing for Causality in Variance using Multivariate GARCH Models [PDF]
Tests of causality in variance in multiple time series have been proposed recently, based on residuals of estimated univariate models. Although such tests are applied frequently little is known about their power properties.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Best Practice for Online Tests: How Long Do Students Actually Need?
Multiple choice tests are unlikely to disappear from formal education, partly due to the ease of large-scale administration and grading and their similarity to licensing exams in various fields (e.g., nursing).
