Two-Dimensional Harmonic Retrieval in Correlative Noise Based on Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2010
We propose a niche Genetic algorithm (GA) for the two-dimensional (2D) harmonic retrieval in the presence of correlative zero-mean, multiplicative, and additive noise.

Superring of Polynomials over a Hyperring

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
A Krasner hyperring (for short, a hyperring) is a generalization of a ring such that the addition is multivalued and the multiplication is as usual single valued and satisfies the usual ring properties.

Capturing the zero: a new class of zero-augmented distributions and multiplicative error processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We propose a novel approach to model serially dependent positive-valued variables which realize a non-trivial proportion of zero outcomes. This is a typical phenomenon in financial time series observed on high frequencies, such as cumulated trading ...

Cell geometry and membrane protein crowding constrain Escherichia coli growth rate, overflow metabolism, respiration, and maintenance energy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Milne-Type Inequalities in the Context of Conformable Fractional Multiplicative Integrals

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces
This paper examines Milne inequalities in the setting of conformal fractional multiplicative integrals, which represent a modern extension of traditional fractional calculus.

Genetic basis for clinical expression in multiple sclerosis [PDF]

open access: yesBrain, 2002
Multiple sclerosis is a clinically heterogeneous demyelinating disease and an important cause of acquired neurological disability. An underlying complex genetic susceptibility plays an important role in multiple sclerosis aetiology; however, the role of genetic factors in determining clinical features of multiple sclerosis is unknown.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Real Time Multiplicative Memory Amplification Mediated by Whole-Cell Scaling of Synaptic Response in Key Neurons. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2017
Intense spiking response of a memory-pattern is believed to play a crucial role both in normal learning and pathology, where it can create biased behavior.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.
