Design of ternary signals for MIMO identification in the presence of noise and nonlinear distortion [PDF]
A new approach to designing sets of ternary periodic signals with different periods for multi-input multi-output system identification is described. The signals are pseudo-random signals with uniform nonzero harmonics, generated from Galois field GF(q ...

In this study, we developed a deep learning method for mitotic figure counting in H&E‐stained whole‐slide images and evaluated its prognostic impact in 13 external validation cohorts from seven different cancer types. Patients with more mitotic figures per mm2 had significantly worse patient outcome in all the studied cancer types except colorectal ...

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Applications Oriented Optimal Input Design for MPC: An analysis of a quadruple water tank process [PDF]
Model predictive control (MPC) makes use of a model of the system, therefore performances are highly dependent on the accuracy of the model chosen. Applications oriented optimal input design enables optimization of the system identification experiments ...

Control of a Multivariable System Using Optimal Control Pairs: A Quadruple-Tank Process
This paper deals with one of the possible ways to control multivariable (MIMO) control loops. The suggested control design procedure uses the so-called primary controllers, auxiliary controllers, and also correction members.

This work is concerned with the finite‐time consensus of leader‐following non‐linear multi‐agent systems by means of distributed event‐triggered impulsive control. The finite‐time consensus protocol is first put forward based on event‐triggered impulsive

A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...

SQUEEZING IN MULTIVARIATE SPIN SYSTEMS [PDF]
In contrast to the canonically conjugate variates q, p representing the position and momentum of a particle in the phase space distributions, the three Cartesian components, Jx, Jy, Jz of a spin-j system constitute the mutually non-commuting variates in the quasi-probabilistic spin distributions.

Multivariable proportional-integral-plus (PIP) control of the ALSTOM nonlinear gasifier simulation [PDF]
Multivariable proportional-integral-plus (PIP) control methods are applied to the nonlinear ALSTOM Benchmark Challenge II. The approach utilises a data-based combined model reduction and linearisation step, which plays an essential role in satisfying the
