CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Indigenous house mice dominate small mammal communities in northern Afghan military bases

open access: yesBMC Zoology, 2017
Background Small mammals are important reservoirs for pathogens in military conflicts and peacekeeping operations all over the world. This study investigates the rodent communities in three military bases in Northern Afghanistan.

HISTOLOGICAL STUDY OF THE EFFECT OF THE PARASITE Trichomonas vaginalis ON SOME ORGANS OF THE WHITE SWISS MICE STRAIN BALB/C [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة جامعة الانبار للعلوم الصرفة, 2013
The study showed that the effect of experimental Trichomonasis caused histological change to some of organs under investigation (prostate and testes and penis) in albino rats .In our study, albino rats were divided into three groups [Group I (Single ...

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Functional signatures of evolutionarily young CTCF binding sites

open access: yesBMC Biology, 2020
Background The introduction of novel CTCF binding sites in gene regulatory regions in the rodent lineage is partly the effect of transposable element expansion, particularly in the murine lineage.

Morphological abnormalities and histopathological lesions of ethyl alcohol During the embryonic development of the Swiss white mouse Mus Musculus [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة التربية والعلم, 2007
The present study aims at investigating the effects of ethyl alcohol to induce morphological malformation and histological defects during the embryological eye development of the Swiss albino mice Mus musculus at the level of light microscope.

Neurovascular Contacts in the Pathophysiology of Neuralgic Amyotrophy: An Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuralgic amyotrophy (NA) is a prevalent, monophasic, multifocal immune‐mediated neuropathy. A distinctive characteristic of the disease is the occurrence of nerve or fascicle constrictions and torsions (NA‐associated focal nerve lesions, NAFL). The pathophysiology underlying this phenomenon remains to be fully elucidated.

Atomic Layer Deposition Processes: Versatile Platforms for Engineering ZnO‐Chitosan Biointerfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Vapour phase metalation (VPM), multiplied pulsed vapour phase infiltration (MPI), and O2 plasma‑enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) tailor Zn–chitosan (Zn‑CS) films. PEALD improves wettability and biocompatibility. MPI enhances semiconductor behavior. Antiseptic selectivity: VPM → E. coli; MPI → H. pylori.
