Putting things in place for fertilization: discovering roles for importin proteins in cell fate and spermatogenesis

open access: yesAsian Journal of Andrology, 2015
Importin proteins were originally characterized for their central role in protein transport through the nuclear pores, the only intracellular entry to the nucleus.

Transdermal Delivery of an mRNA‐Liposome Vaccine via Dissolving Microneedle to Preserve Vaccine Activity and Enhance Immune Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An mRNA‐liposome vaccine via dissolving microneedles (ML‐DMN) enables efficient skin‐targeted delivery while preserving mRNA integrity and allowing sustained antigen expression. Unlike intramuscular (IM) injection, ML‐DMN engages skin‐resident immune cells, activates antigen‐presenting cells (APCs), and induces strong T cell and cytokine responses at ...

Characteristics, Management, and Utilization of Muscles in Musculoskeletal Humanoids: Empirical Study on Kengoro and Musashi

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Musculoskeletal humanoids exhibit rich biomechanical properties that remain insufficiently unified in prior discussions. This article systematically categorizes muscle characteristics into five properties: redundancy, independency, anisotropy, variable moment arm, and nonlinear elasticity, and analyzes their combined effects on control.

Additional file 1 of MicroRNA-143 acts as a tumor suppressor through Musashi-2/DLL1/Notch1 and Musashi-2/Snail1/MMPs axes in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yes, 2023
Additional file 1: Table S2. Sequences of siRNA/miRNA. Table S3. Sequences of primers used for quantitative real-time PCR. Figure S1. Biological effects of miR-143 in AML. Figure S2. Overexpression of MiR-143 hardly unaffected the cell cycle, but suppressed cell migration in AML. Figure S3.

Focused Ultrasound‐Induced Mechanical Ablation Affects the Carbohydrate Metabolism of Residual/Peri‐Focally Localized Glioblastoma Cells

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) is highly aggressive and therapy‐resistant, warranting exploration of novel treatment strategies, among them mechanical high‐intensity focused ultrasound (mFUS), which holds significant promise for tumor ablation. The present study examined mFUS‐induced changes specifically in carbohydrate metabolism, which affects vulnerability to ...

Molecular and clinical features of a Japanese medulloblastoma cohort: Subgroup‐specific prognostic stratification using economical/accessible diagnostic methods

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the molecular subgroup–specific features of a nationwide Japanese cohort comprising 242 medulloblastomas (MBs). Furthermore, we introduce SEE‐6‐CNA, a simple, cost‐effective, and FFPE‐compatible molecular test that is applicable to routine pathology samples and serves as a surrogate for risk stratification in non‐WNT/non‐SHH ...

Indirect and Selective Patterning Strategy of Silver Nanowires Using Elastomer Poly(vinylidene Fluoride‐Co‐Hexafluoropropylene) for Stretchable Electronics

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 223, Issue 12, 24 June 2026.
An indirect and selective patterning strategy is introduced to form embedded silver nanowire (AgNW) electrodes using the interfacial adhesion contrast between e‐PVDF‐HFP and PDMS. This method enables multiscale AgNW electrode patterning without masks or etching and improves mechanical and environmental stability.

Suppression of Musashi‑2 by the small compound largazole exerts inhibitory effects on malignant cells

open access: yesInternational Journal of Oncology, 2020
RNA‑binding protein Musashi‑2 (MSI2) serves as a regulator of numerous pivotal biological processes associated with cancer initiation, development and resistance to treatment, and may represent a promising drug target. However, whether MSI2 inhibition is of value in antitumor treatment remains to be determined.
