Muscarinic acetylcholine M receptors (mAChRs) belong to the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily and play a crucial role in regulating and controlling the release of acetylcholine (ACh). This review aims to focus on M3 receptor (M3R) subtype distribution, function, efficacy, and clinical applications.

Ligand-Induced Activation of the M3-Muscarinic Acetylcholine Receptor
This thesis explores the computer-aided drug design of the M3-muscarinic acetylcholine receptor in three chapters. The first chapter focuses on molecular docking to identify novel agonists using the ZINC12 library. A model of the M3 receptor was built based on the M2 receptor.

Chronic regulation of colonic epithelial secretory function by activation of G protein-coupled receptors. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Enteric neurotransmitters that act at G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are well known to acutely promote epithelial Cl(-) and fluid secretion.
