Identification of a novel protein partner of the M3 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor
The FASEB Journal, 2008The M 3 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor is widely expressed throughout the central nervous system and is also found in many peripheral tissues and cell types. Several lines of work suggest that drugs acting on central or peripheral M 3 receptors might

Interaction of Edrophonium with Muscarinic Acetylcholine M2and M3Receptors
Anesthesiology, 2001Background It has been reported that edrophonium can antagonize the negative chronotropic effect of carbachol. This study was undertaken to evaluate in detail the interaction of edrophonium with muscarinic Mz and M3 receptors. Methods A functional study was conducted to evaluate the

M3 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor antagonists: SAR and optimization of bi-aryl amines
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2009Exploration of multiple regions of a bi-aryl amine template led to the identification of highly potent M(3) muscarinic acetylcholine receptor antagonists such as 14 (pA(2)=11.0) possessing good sub-type selectivity for M(3) over M(2). The structure-activity relationships (SAR) and optimization of the bi-aryl amine series are described.

The regulation of m3-muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR) mRNA following exposure to microtubule-disrupting agents was studied in cultured cerebellar granule cells. Colchicine (10 muM), an antimicrotubular agent, decreased the levels of m3-mAChR mRNA in a time-dependent fashion.

Pancreatic muscarinic acetylcholine receptors play an important role in stimulating insulin and glucagon secretion from islet cells. To study the potential role of the M3 muscarinic receptor subtype in cholinergic stimulation of insulin release, we initially examined the effect of the muscarinic agonist, oxotremorine-M (Oxo-M), on insulin secretion ...

Ligand-Induced Activation of the M3-Muscarinic Acetylcholine Receptor
This thesis explores the computer-aided drug design of the M3-muscarinic acetylcholine receptor in three chapters. The first chapter focuses on molecular docking to identify novel agonists using the ZINC12 library. A model of the M3 receptor was built based on the M2 receptor.openaire +1 more source
