Sex Differences in Medication Discontinuation in Axial Spondyloarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Volume 78, Issue 7, Page 914-924, July 2026.
Objective We examined sex differences in medication discontinuation among patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) initiating tumor necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFi), interleukin‐17 inhibitors (IL‐17i), or JAK inhibitors (JAKi). Methods Using data from the Rheumatology Informatics System for Effectiveness (RISE) Registry (2003–2025), we assessed ...

Measuring the Impact: Magnetic Resonance Imaging Response of Sacroiliac Joints to Tumor Necrosis Factor Inhibitors in Youth With Axial Disease

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 78, Issue 7, Page 1527-1534, July 2026.
Objective To evaluate the timeline for resolution of sacroiliac joint (SIJ) inflammation, changes in structural lesions, and their correlation with patient‐reported outcomes (PROs) in youth with axial juvenile spondyloarthritis (axJSpA) initiating tumor necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi).

Dysregulation of U12‐Type Splicing in Lupus Neutrophils

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 78, Issue 7, Page 1490-1499, July 2026.
Objective Neutrophil dysfunction is a hallmark of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), but its molecular basis remains unclear. This study explores transcriptional and posttranscriptional changes in low‐density granulocytes (LDGs), a proinflammatory neutrophil subset expanded in SLE, focusing on NADPH oxidase (Nox) function and minor intron splicing ...

Degradomics for large‐scale mechanistic insights on proteases and proteolysis in human health

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 13, Page 3881-3898, July 2026.
Proteolysis has an important role in human disease but remains relatively unexplored. Degradomics, the uncovering of proteolysis in tissues, cells, and proteins, uses mass spectrometry‐based terminomics to identify protein termini occurring therein (forward degradomics) and to define the actions of proteases (reverse degradomics).

Exercise Training Stimulates the Release of Glutathione Peroxidase 1 (GPX1)‐Enriched Extracellular Vesicles That Promote Angiogenesis

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 12, 30 June 2026.
Exercise Training Stimulates the Release of Glutathione Peroxidase 1 (GPX1)‐Enriched Extracellular Vesicles that Promote Angiogenesis. The results from this study suggest that EVs isolated from blood immediately after the last bout of endurance exercise training (ExerV) are enriched in antioxidants. ExerVs stimulate vascular growth both in vitro and in

Reduced Mechanical Tactile Stimulation Under Space Microgravity Affects Synaptic Signaling and Contributes to Neuromuscular Aging in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 12, 30 June 2026.
Microgravity (μG) reduces mechanical tactile stimulation in Caenorhabditis elegans, causing neuromuscular decline, altered gene expression, synaptic defects, and accelerated aging phenotypes. The gentle‐touch mechanoreceptor MEC‐4 mediates μG‐induced body length reduction and extracellular matrix gene downregulation.
