A Low-Profile Decoupling Structure for Mutual Coupling Suppression in MIMO Patch Antenna

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2021
In this article, a new low-profile decoupling structure originated from the phase shift concept for the patch antenna array is proposed. To clearly illustrate the operation principle, the phase of the signal transmitted from Patch 1 to Patch 2 has been ...

Mutual Coupling Reduction Using Ground Stub and EBG in a Compact Wideband MIMO-Antenna

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
This paper presents a compact, uni-planer wide band Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna. The designed antenna array has a compact size of (26mm x 31mm) covering a wide frequency band from 3.1GHz - 11GHz.

Dynamics of mutually coupled VCSELs [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2004
8 pages, 8 figures.-- Communication presented at: Physics and Simulation of Optoelectronic Devices XII (San Jose, CA, USA, 26 January 2004). We study the dynamics of two Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSELs), when they are bidirectionally coupled through the mutual injection of their coherent optical fields.

Decreasing Mutual Coupling in a Phased Array Using a Mutual Coupling Based Element [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC), 2019
Generally, mutual coupling substantially affects performance of arrays in both transmit and receive states. This paper is to address this challenge. In this paper, a densely packed S-band circularly polarized (CP) microstrip phased array antenna is designed.

End-to-End Mutual Coupling Aware Communication Model for Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: An Electromagnetic-Compliant Approach Based on Mutual Impedances [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2020
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) are an emerging technology for application to wireless networks. We introduce a physics and electromagnetic (EM) compliant communication model for analyzing and optimizing RIS-assisted wireless systems.

Deep Convolutional Neural Networks to Predict Mutual Coupling Effects in Metasurfaces [PDF]

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, 2021
Metasurfaces have provided a novel and promising platform for realizing compact and high‐performance optical devices. The conventional metasurface design approach assumes periodic boundary conditions for each element, which is inaccurate in most cases ...

Design of Low Mutual Coupling Dielectric Resonator Antennas Without Using Extra Decoupling Element

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2021
A simple decoupling method of using specific higher-order modes to improve the isolation of dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) elements is investigated.

Comparing Mutual Coupling of Ring Metamaterial on Square and Vivaldi Array Antennas

open access: yesBuletin Pos dan Telekomunikasi: Media Komunikasi Ilmiah, 2020
The antenna performance is seen from the S-parameter value. The S-parameter graph can be seen as the return loss (S11, S22) and the mutual coupling (S21, S12) value.

Mutually delay-coupled semiconductor lasers: Mode bifurcation scenarios [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Communications, 2005
We study the spectral and dynamical behavior of two identical, mutually delay-coupled semiconductor lasers. We concentrate on the short coupling-time regime where the number of basic states of the system, the compound laser modes (CLMs), is small so that their individual behavior can be studied both experimentally and theoretically.

Coherent regimes of mutually coupled Chua’s circuits [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2006
We study the dynamical regimes that emerge from the strongly coupling between two Chua's circuits with parameters mismatch. For the region around the perfect synchronous state we show how to combine parameter diversity and coupling in order to robustly and precisely target a desired regime.
