MYCN as a target for cancer immunotherapy

Cancer Immunology, Immunotherapy, 2007
MYCN is a potential target for cancer immunotherapy by virtue of its overexpression in numerous human malignancies and its functional role in tumour progression. Here we show limited expression of MYCN in normal human tissues indicating that anti-MYCN immune responses are unlikely to cross react with self tissues.

The MYCN oncogene and differentiation in neuroblastoma

Seminars in Cancer Biology, 2011
Childhood neuroblastoma exhibits a heterogeneous clinical behavior ranging from low-risk tumors with the ability to spontaneously differentiate and regress, to high-risk tumors causing the highest number of cancer related deaths in infants. Amplification of the MYCN oncogene is one of the few prediction markers for adverse outcome.

ALK pERKs Up MYCN in Neuroblastoma

Science Signaling, 2014
Identification of a crucial mediator between abnormally active ALK and MYCN reveals a potential combination therapy for several tumor types.

Locoregional MYCN‐amplified neuroblastoma

Pediatric Blood & Cancer, 2012
AbstractMYCN‐amplification is strongly associated with other high‐risk prognostic factors and poor outcome in neuroblastoma. Infrequently, amplification of MYCN has been identified in localized tumors with favorable biologic features. Outcome for these children is difficult to predict and optimal treatment strategies remain unclear. We report a 5‐month‐

Cavitary retinoblastoma with MYCN amplification

Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus
MYCN amplification within the tumor has emerged as an important factor in the oncogenesis of a subset of retinoblastomas, most of which are caused by pathogenic variants in the RB1 gene. We present the case of a 3-month-old girl with unilateral cavitary retinoblastoma that initially responded well to intra-arterial chemotherapy but later recurred ...

The MYCN/Aurora-A/CDK12 axis as a critical target in MYCN amplified neuroblastoma [PDF]

open access: possible
Neuroblastoma is the most common extracranial solid tumor of early childhood. Tumors driven by amplification of the oncogene MYCN exhibit aggressive clinical behavior and poor prognosis despite multimodal therapy. Previous in vitro studies have shown that complex formation between MYCN and the Aurora-A kinase stabilizes MYCN while also activating ...
