Pediatric Pott's Disease of the Sacrum: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 9, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Isolated sacral tuberculosis in children is rare and can present without typical signs of inflammation. Early recognition and initiation of antituberculosis therapy are crucial to prevent complications such as bone destruction, deformity, and paraplegia.

Stroke Mimicry: Unmasking a Brainstem Tuberculoma in a Young Patient

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 9, September 2025.
A young male presented with stroke‐like symptoms ‐ progressive hemiparesis and cranial nerve palsies. MRI brain revealed a ring‐enhancing intrapontine lesion with perilesional edema, suggestive of tuberculoma. Early initiation of anti‐tubercular therapy led to complete recovery.

Beyond Negative Regulation: IL‐1R8 and IL‐1R2 as Novel Immune Checkpoints

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 55, Issue 9, September 2025.
Self‐regulation of the IL‐1 system mediated by the negative regulatory receptors IL‐1R8 and IL‐1R2 results in tuning of inflammation and metabolic rewiring, as well as lymphoid or myeloid cell immune suppression. IL‐1R8 and IL‐1R2 are emerging as potential therapeutic targets to modulate immunopathology and re‐educate lymphoid or myeloid cells ...

The mRNA Translation Inhibitor Vioprolide A Prevents Inflammatory Pain‐Like Behaviour With Limited Action on Already Established Pain‐Like Behaviour in Mice

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pain, Volume 29, Issue 8, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Accumulating evidence indicates that pharmacological inhibition of the translational machinery is a therapeutic strategy for various diseases. However, whether inhibitors of mRNA translation might be suitable for pain therapy remains poorly understood. Here, we tested the potential analgesic effects of the natural product vioprolide
