Membrane topology of the myelin/oligodendrocyte glycoprotein
European Journal of Biochemistry, 1998Myelin/oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG), a specific component of the mammalian central nervous system, is located on the surface of the oligodendrocyte plasma membrane and the outermost lamellae of mature myelin; it is expressed during the latter steps of myelinogenesis.

Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) polymorphisms and adrenoleukodystrophy
Journal of Neuroimmunology, 2000We describe four novel sequence variants in the Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) gene. A total of six sequence variants of the MOG gene were identified in eleven out of 44 ALD patients investigated: G15A, CTC repeat in exon 1, Val142Leu, Val145Ile, 551+68A-->G and 551+77C-->T.

Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease: an immunopathological study.
Brain : a journal of neurology, 2020Conformation-sensitive antibodies against myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) are detectable in patients with optic neuritis, myelitis, opticomyelitis, acute or multiphasic disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM/MDEM) and brainstem/cerebral cortical ...

Myelin/Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein
1997Myelinogenesis is an essential, highly regulated event that occurs during early mam-malian development whereby internodal axonal segments are enveloped by compacted multilamellar membranes. A single oligodendrocyte in the central nervous system (CNS) has the capacity to extend numerous processes, which develop into elaborate specialized membranes that ...

Predictors of a relapsing course in myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease
Journal of Neurology Neurosurgery & PsychiatryBackground Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) is a recently described demyelinating disorder, and children represent about 50% of all cases.

Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein polymorphisms and multiple sclerosis
Journal of Neuroimmunology, 2002A detailed analysis of the coding sequences of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotei (MOG) gene was performed in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients and in control individuals and three new polymorphisms are described: T636C, nt 571+77C-->T (IVS 4), and nt 710-44A-->G (IVS 6).

Investigation of Myelin/Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Membrane Topology
Journal of Neurochemistry, 1996Abstract: Myelin/oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) is a CNS‐specific integral membrane protein that is an atypical member of the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily with two potential transmembrane domains based upon hydropathy analysis. With only one other exception, all Ig family members possess a single or no membrane spanning region.

Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein immunoglobulin G-associated encephalomyelitis
Zhurnal nevrologii i psikhiatrii im. S.S. Korsakova, 2020The article discusses the role of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein immunoglobulin G (MOG-IgG) in demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system. Clinical phenotypes of demyelinating syndromes associated with MOG-IgG that are currently included into neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) are described.

Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein-IgG-associated optic neuritis
Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 2018Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG)-IgG-associated optic neuritis has been established as a new entity of optic neuropathy. We will review recent advances in pathophysiology, diagnosis, and clinical manifestations of MOG-IgG-associated optic neuritis to better understand its distinctive characteristics.MOG is expressed on the surface of myelin ...
