Transfer RNA and small molecule therapeutics for aminoacyl‐tRNA synthetase diseases

Aminoacyl‐tRNA synthetases catalyze the ligation of a specific amino acid to a cognate tRNA—a reaction that lays the foundations for deciphering the genetic code. Pathogenic alleles in these synthetases can lead to dominant or recessive disorders, for which little or no disease‐specific treatments exist.

On the synergy between myelin proteins P0, MBP, and P2 in peripheral nerve major dense line formation

Myelin is a multilayered proteolipid membrane in the nervous system. The lipid membranes are held together by specific proteins, and here, we studied three such proteins—P0, MBP, and P2. Our experiments show that the three proteins may act in synergy at the molecular level, while they also compete for lipid membrane surface binding.

Abstract Birdsong learning and production is mediated through a vocal control circuit that exhibits ubiquitous and profound sex differences. In zebra finches (Taeniopygia guttata) only males sing, and sex differences in both neuroanatomy and myelination of this circuit emerge during the first 3 months of life as song learning is taking place.

MRI‐based surrogates of brain clearance in narcolepsy type 1

Summary Brain clearance involves the drainage of waste molecules from the brain, a process that is suggested to be amplified during sleep. Recently proposed MRI‐based methods attempt to approximate human brain clearance with surrogate measures. The current study aimed to explore whether two brain clearance surrogates are altered in narcolepsy.
