The Effect of Ivabradine on the Human Atrial Myocardial Contractility in an In Vitro Study
Purpose. Ivabradine has emerged as a new antiarrhythmic agent that could compete with the traditional ones, such as beta-blockers. This experimental study aims to ascertain whether ivabradine directly interferes with the myocardial contractility in an in

The Acute Responses of Different-sized Coronary Arteries to Testosterone [PDF]
Coronary arteries supply blood to the myocardium. The blood flow within the coronary arteries is altered by various compounds produced within the body. Sex hormones such as testosterone are known to cause the relaxation of large coronary arteries.

Catechol Derivative‐Based Bioadhesives: Molecular Design for Precision Medical Adhesion
This study utilizes tree‐inspired side‐chain engineering to graft five catechol derivatives onto PVA, systematically revealing how side‐chain length and substituents regulate adhesion and cohesion properties. Among them, the PVA‐CA patch demonstrates superior tissue adhesion, biocompatibility, and promotes regeneration, establishing a programmable ...

Myocardial sarcomere dynamics during isometric contraction.
1. Sarcomere lengths were measured during rest and throughout the time course of isometric contractions in thin, isolated rat papillary muscles using light diffraction techniques. 2. Shortening of the sarcomere length occurred upon contraction at all muscle lengths, averaging 7% at optimal length and more at shorter lengths.

ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanoscale mediators of intercellular communication with diverse molecular cargoes that reflect their cell of origin. Advances in isolation, detection, and single‐particle analytics have revealed increasing molecular and functional heterogeneity, while exposing limitations in how EV identity and activity are ...
