Troponins in myocardial infarction and injury.

open access: yesAustralian prescriber, 2022
Troponins are proteins that are integral components of the contractile mechanism of muscle, including cardiac muscle. Cardiac troponins Iand T can be detected in the blood of most people after puberty, at concentrations reflecting cardiac mass, sex and age. Current laboratory assays are approximately 1000 times more sensitive than those used previously.

Effect of propranolol on regional myocardial function in anesthetized open-chest dogs with myocardial ischemia

open access: yes, 1978
Effects of propranolol on ischemic segmental function were studied in anesthetized open-chest dogs. Two segment-length gauges were used for measuring the regional myocardial function: one was sutured on to the left ventricular surface perfused by the ...

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Transcriptomic analysis reveals the lipid metabolism-related gene regulatory characteristics and potential therapeutic agents for myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundImpaired energy balance caused by lipid metabolism dysregulation is an essential mechanism of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MI/RI). This study aims to explore the lipid metabolism-related gene (LMRG) expression patterns in MI/RI and ...
