Magnetic Micro‐ and Nanorobots for Precision Thrombolysis: Design Strategies and Translational Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Micro‐ and nanorobots for targeted thrombolysis. This perspective elaborates on the clinical indication of blood clot disorders and current limitations for treatment. As a novel, alternative solution, micro‐ and nanorobots can be used to treat and break down thrombi.

lncRNA HAGLR modulates myocardial ischemia–reperfusion injury in mice through regulating miR-133a-3p/MAPK1 axis

open access: yesOpen Medicine, 2022
Acute myocardial infarction is one of the leading causes of morbidity worldwide, but the underlying mechanism responsible for myocardial ischemia–reperfusion (I/R) injury remains elusive.

Perfusion-induced myocardial injury

open access: yesThe Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 1968
Summary Isolated hypoxic perfusion of the heart and total body hypoxic perfusion were performed as preliminary assessment of parameters bearing on the development of a disposable coronary perfusate for use in intracardiac surgical procedures. Sudden, irreversible damage may result during isolated hypoxic perfusion which produces glycogen depletion and

Reduction of myocardial infarction by postischemic administration of the calpain inhibitor A-705253 in comparison to the Na(+)/H(+) exchange inhibitor Cariporide (R) in isolated perfused rabbit hearts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The calpain inhibitor A-705253 and the Na(+)/H(+) exchange inhibitor Cariporide (R) were studied in isolated perfused rabbit hearts subjected to 60 min occlusion of the ramus interventricularis of the left coronary artery (below the origin of the first ...

PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.

Identification of common signature genes and pathways underlying the pathogenesis association between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and heart failure

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundNon-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and heart failure (HF) are related conditions with an increasing incidence. However, the mechanism underlying their association remains unclear.

Oral Bioinspired Peroxisome‐Engineered Probiotics for Modulating Gut Microbiota Homeostasis and Alleviating Cardiac Chemotherapy Toxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed an oral bioinspired peroxisome‐engineered probiotic (BPEP) by anchoring lipid‐encapsulated ruthenium nanozymes onto Escherichia coli Nissle 1917, utilizing probiotics to deliver nanozymes to the intestinal barrier for reactive oxygen species/reactive nitrogen species elimination, tight junction restoration, and gut microbiota ...

TFAP4 exacerbates pathological cardiac fibrosis by modulating mechanotransduction

open access: yesCell Insight
Cardiac fibroblast (CF) differentiation into myofibroblasts is a crucial driver of cardiac fibrosis, leading to extensive extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition that increases myocardial stiffness and eventually impairs heart function. Mechanotransduction

G3BP1 Succinylation at K413 is Critical for Cardiac Function by Modulating PI3K‐AKT‐mTOR Signal Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustrating the impact of G3BP1 succinylation at K413 on cardiac function. In the healthy human heart, G3BP1 succinylation maintains homeostatic mTOR signaling. In patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and heart failure (HF), G3BP1 de‐succinylation induces RagA expression and disrupts the binding of the TSC1/2 complex, leading to the ...

Lipoxygenase-derived eicosanoids in myocardial ischaemia-reperfusion injury: the role of sensory C-fibres and TRPV1

open access: yes, 2010
PhDIt is well established that the 12-lipoxygenase (12-LOX) pathway of arachidonic acid (AA) metabolism is stimulated within the myocardium by episodes of ischaemia, and there is considerable evidence showing that eicosanoids derived via this pathway ...
