Effects of insulin like growth factors on early embryonic chick limb myogenesis. [PDF]
Limb muscles derive from pax3 expressing precursor cells that migrate from the hypaxial somite into the developing limb bud. Once there they begin to differentiate and express muscle determination genes such as MyoD.

Cis-regulatory determinants of MyoD function [PDF]
Muscle-specific transcription factor MyoD orchestrates the myogenic gene expression program by binding to short DNA motifs called E-boxes within myogenic cis-regulatory elements (CREs). Genome-wide analyses of MyoD cistrome by chromatin immnunoprecipitation sequencing shows that MyoD-bound CREs contain multiple E-boxes of various sequences.

SPARC (spatio‐chimeric, plasma‐based, anisotropic, and shear‐responsive construct) that integrates myogenic and vascular microenvironments within a single construct. The dual‐modulus matrix directs aligned myotube formation and endothelial network development, enabling a vascularized muscle implant that seamlessly anastomoses with host tissue and ...

MyoD Is a Tumor Suppressor Gene in Medulloblastoma [PDF]
Abstract While medulloblastoma, a pediatric tumor of the cerebellum, is characterized by aberrations in developmental pathways, the majority of genetic determinants remain unknown. An unbiased Sleeping Beauty transposon screen revealed MyoD as a putative medulloblastoma tumor suppressor.

Liu et al. define a systems‐level interactome of fibroadipogenic progenitor (FAP)‐mediated signaling in skeletal muscle by integrating single‐cell transcriptomics with FAP depletion‐based perturbation analysis. Functional interrogation using a conditioned media bioassay links predicted signaling to multicellular outcomes, establishing a framework to ...

STAU2 undergoes phase separation to form dynamic condensates that package target mRNAs and deliver them to the distal ends of growing neuronal dendrites. STAU2 condensates stabilize embedded mRNAs and repress their translation. Synaptic activity bidirectionally remodels STAU2 condensates, coordinating local translation of STAU2‐associated mRNAs ...

Introduction. Functional unloading of muscles is accompanied by slow-to-fast transformation of muscle myosin phenotype, an increase in acid sphingomyelinase (ASM) activity, ceramide, reactive oxygen species (ROS), and advanced glycation end products (
