The epigenetic landscape of skeletal muscle in response to exercise and aging

Epigenetic mechanisms regulate gene expression in response to exercise and aging, thereby supporting skeletal muscle plasticity. Acute exercise induces chromatin remodeling through histone modifications and DNA methylation, promoting the expression of exercise‐responsive genes.

TRIM32 controls timely cell cycle exit in muscular differentiation through downregulation of c‐Myc mRNA

Trim32 regulates the transition from proliferation to differentiation in C2C12 cells after myogenic induction. We found that, at the onset of differentiation, Trim32 destabilizes c‐Myc mRNA, promotes cell cycle exit, and enables normal myotube formation.

Development of the abdominal musculature in the chicken embryo

In this study, we investigate anatomy, morphogenesis, segmental origin, and fiber formation of the abdominal musculature in the chicken embryo. We show that abdominal muscles arise from somites 24 to 28, and that the segmental identity of individual fibers in the abdominal muscle sheets is maintained.

Secondary cartilage in the murine medial pterygoid plate has a critical role in the pathfinding of the tensor veli palatini

The development of the medial pterygoid plate (MPP) is followed in mouse embryos, highlighting its neural crest origin and complex development via both endochondral and membranous ossification. Using transgenic mice, the secondary cartilage of the MPP is shown to direct the path of the tensor veli palatini.
