Immunomodulatory proteins of myxoma virus

Seminars in Immunology, 2001
Poxviruses collectively encode an impressive collection of diverse immunomodulatory proteins. In this review we draw attention to some of the new open reading frames (ORFs) discovered during the sequencing of the myxoma virus DNA genome [Cameron C, Hota-Mitchell S, Chen L, Barrett J, Cao J-X, Macaulay C, Willer D, Evans D, McFadden G (1999) The ...

Myxoma virus as a vaccine vector for rabbits: antibody levels to influenza virus haemagglutinin presented by a recombinant myxoma virus

Vaccine, 1995
To determine whether myxoma virus (MV) could be used as a vector for antigen presentation to European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus), despite its immunosuppressive properties, a recombinant MV expressing the influenza virus haemagglutinin (HA) was constructed.

Myxoma virus in rabbits

Revue Scientifique et Technique de l'OIE, 1998
Myxoma virus in European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) is one of the best documented examples of host-virus co-evolution. In the natural hosts (Sylvilagus brasiliensis or S. bachmani rabbits in the Americas), myxoma virus causes a benign cutaneous fibroma. In European rabbits, however, myxoma virus causes the fulminant disease, myxomatosis.
