Enterococcus faecalis and Endodontic Treatment Failure: A Qualitative Systematic Review of Its Role and Elimination Strategies

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, Volume 52, Issue 2, Page 585-605, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to synthesize evidence on the influence of Enterococcus faecalis on endodontic treatment failure and strategies for its elimination. This study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and was registered in PROSPERO (CRD420251022741).

Neutrophil extracellular traps induced by activated platelets as a cause of neutrophil–platelet aggregation in β‐thalassaemia/haemoglobin E patients

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, Volume 209, Issue 2, Page 703-717, August 2026.
Abnormal neutrophils and platelets in splenectomised β‐thalassaemia/haemoglobin E (HbE) disease contribute to neutrophil–platelet aggregation, leading to a high risk of thrombus formation. Activated platelets induce neutrophils to generate neutrophil extracellular trap (NETs) via the P‐selectin–P‐selectin glycoprotein ligand‐1 (PSGL1) pathway, which ...

AP‐1B Controls Several Levels of Cell Proliferation and Differentiation in Mouse Enteroids

open access: yesBiology of the Cell, Volume 118, Issue 8, August 2026.
We show that in mouse intestinal organoids, AP‐1B is implicated in apical polarity, differentiation in the secretory lineage and proliferation. In particular, we propose that proliferation is controlled by AP‐1B via the mTOR and YAP pathways. Arrows show the functional links that were elucidated in this study, and dotted lines show putative downstream ...

Absorption and Effects of Patch Test Preparations of Hydroperoxides of Limonene and Hydroperoxides of Linalool in Human Ex Vivo Skin

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, Volume 95, Issue 2, Page 159-168, August 2026.
This study mimics clinical patch testing for the diagnosis of allergic contact dermatitis, by application of patch test preparations of fragrance terpenes to ex vivo human skin samples. The study investigates the penetration of linalool hydroperoxide and limonene hydroperoxide in skin, alongside an analysis of the lipid‐modifying effects of the patch ...
