NHC-catalysed highly selective aerobic oxidation of nonactivated aldehydes
This publication describes a highly selective oxidation of aldehydes to the corresponding acids or esters. The reaction proceeds under metal-free conditions by using N-heterocyclic carbenes as organocatalysts in combination with environmentally friendly ...

Photochromic diarylethene-containing ionic liquids and N-heterocyclic carbenes [PDF]
The design and synthesis of a series of photochromic diarylethene- containing Arduengo-type N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) of gold(I), silver(I) and palladium(II) and their imidazolium salt precursors are reported.

Corannulene meets N-heterocyclic carbenes [PDF]
Inspired by the pioneering work of Arduengo et. al and Barth and Lawton, this thesis describes the synthetic strategies attempted and successfully utilised to synthesise novel corannulene-based imidazolium salts preceding N-heterocyclic carbenes ...

NHCs Catalyzed Hydrophosphonylation of α-Ketoesters and α-Trifluoromethyl Ketones
N-Heterocyclic carbenes catalyzed hydrophosphonylation reaction of α-ketoesters and α-trifluoromethyl ketones was developed. Under the catalysis of 10 mol% IPr, α-ketoesters or α-trifluoromethyl ketones reacted with dialkyl phosphites to provide ...

Ultra‐Thin and Highly Insulating Aromatic Monolayers by N‐Heterocyclic Carbenes
By using N‐heterocyclic carbenes extremally insulating and at the same time as thin as 0.3 nm molecular films are formed. The charge transport calculations indicate absence of destructive quantum interference effect which was so far the only way to suppress conductivity in aromatic molecules.
