Clinical outcomes of chemotherapy in patients with undifferentiated carcinoma of the pancreas: a retrospective multicenter cohort study

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2020
Background Undifferentiated carcinoma (UC) of the pancreas is a rare subtype of pancreatic cancer. Although UC has been considered a highly aggressive malignancy, no clinical studies have addressed the efficacy of chemotherapy for unresectable UC ...

A five arm natural history study of nasal vestibulitis

open access: yesCancer Medicine, 2023
Introduction Nasal symptoms are frequently reported by patients undergoing chemotherapy. Methods Eligible patients planning to receive paclitaxel, docetaxel, nab‐paclitaxel, bevacizumab without a concomitant taxane, or “other” (non‐taxane, non ...

Chemotherapy in Metastatic NSCLC – New Regimens (Pemetrexed, Nab-Paclitaxel) [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2014
Platinum-based chemotherapy doublets have been the standard approach to first-line therapy for more than a decade. Many randomized trials testing new combinations have not been able to produce significant gains in patient outcomes when these studies have looked at an unselected patient population. The recognition of the biologic importance of histology

Is nab-paclitaxel better than conventional taxanes as neoadjuvant therapy for breast cancer? A meta-analysis

open access: yesJournal of International Medical Research, 2020
Objective This study compared the efficacy and safety of nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-paclitaxel) with conventional taxanes as neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer. Methods We searched the literature using PubMed, the Cochrane Library,

Nab-paclitaxel as second-line treatment in advanced biliary cancer.

open access: yes, 2015
463 Background: Addition of nab-paclitaxel to gemcitabine has recently been demonstrated in the clinical phase III trial MPACT to be beneficial for progression free survival, overall response rate, and overall survival in advanced pancreatic cancer ...

Photodynamic Priming and Minocycline Overcome Chemoresistance by Reprogramming the Pancreatic Tumor Immune Microenvironment In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dual priming with minocycline and photodynamic priming reprograms the pancreatic tumor microenvironment to overcome chemoresistance. By suppressing DNA repair enzyme Tdp1, inducing photooxidative damage, and enhancing irinotecan delivery via light‐activated nanoencapsulation, this strategy remodels the tumor microenvironment and drives immune ...

Nucleic Acid Therapeutics for “Undruggable” Cancer Targets: Mechanisms, Challenges, and Prospects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nucleic acid therapeutics bypass the structural limitations of conventional drugs by targeting mRNA rather than proteins. This review examines how antisense oligonucleotides, siRNAs, miRNAs, aptamers, and mRNA vaccines intervene against historically undruggable oncoproteins including Ras, MYC, and p53, highlighting mechanistic advances, delivery ...

Targeting KDM3B Elicits Anti‐tumor Immunity by Alleviating SHP1–mediated STING Suppression in Triple–Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
P3FI–90 treatment targets KDM3B, reshapes the epigenetic landscape, and suppresses SHP1 expression, thereby activating STING–TBK1–IRF3–type I IFN signaling pathway. Consequently, CD8+ T cells are recruited to the tumor site and activated to produce IFN–γ and GZMB, leading to the killing of TNBC cells.

Delayed hypersensitivity and cytokine release syndrome to paclitaxel and nab-paclitaxel: a case report [PDF]

open access: yesExploration of Asthma & Allergy
Hypersensitivity reactions (HSRs) to paclitaxel, particularly those mediated by the solubilizer Cremophor® EL, are common, occurring in approximately 10% of patients despite premedication.
