NAD tagSeq reveals that NAD+-capped RNAs are mostly produced from a large number of protein-coding genes in Arabidopsis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The 5' end of a eukaryotic mRNA transcript generally has a 7-methylguanosine (m7G) cap that protects mRNA from degradation and mediates almost all other aspects of gene expression.

Effect of Dietary Ketosis and Nicotinamide Riboside on Hippocampal Krebs Cycle Intermediates and Mitochondrial Energetics in a DNA Repair‐Deficient 3xTg/POLβ+/− Alzheimer Disease Mouse Model

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 169, Issue 1, January 2025.
Alzheimer disease causes neurodegeneration of the hippocampus. It impedes brain glucose metabolism and impairs mitochondrial energy along electron transport chain (ETC). Will a ketone‐based diet with nicotinamide riboside restore hippocampal energy in an Alzheimer mouse model?

PGC‐1a integrates a metabolism and growth network linked to caloric restriction

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 18, Issue 5, October 2019., 2019
We show that activation of mitochondria via PGC‐1a in cells impinges on diverse functions including chromatin remodeling and RNA processing. We suggest that this PGC‐1a‐directed network is implicated in the mechanisms of delayed aging by caloric restriction.

Aerial Bombing Crater Identification: Exploitation of Precise Digital Terrain Models

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2020
Places of past conflicts and persistent objects that reflect such events often attract the attention of archaeological prospection which facilitates the construction of conflict narratives. Field prospection as a precise method for localization of aerial

Dual treatment with kynurenine pathway inhibitors and NAD+ precursors synergistically extends life span in Drosophila

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 23, Issue 4, April 2024.
Our study explores the impact of kynurenine pathway (KP) modulation and NAD+ supplementation on aging Drosophila. We found that KP inhibition combined with NAD+ precursors significantly enhances physical performance and extends life span. These findings suggest that targeted interventions in KP and NAD+ metabolism can synergistically improve health ...

Biodistribution and toxicity assessment of methoxyphenyl phosphonium carbosilane dendrimers in 2D and 3D cell cultures of human cancer cells and zebrafish embryos

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
The consideration of human and environmental exposure to dendrimers, including cytotoxicity, acute toxicity, and cell and tissue accumulation, is essential due to their significant potential for various biomedical applications.

No significant retinal damage induced by major orthopedic surgery - a pilot study

open access: yesBiomedical Papers, 2022
Background. Perioperative visual loss is one of the rare but devastating complications of anesthesia and surgery. The incidence of less severe or even subclinical postoperative visual dysfunction is unknown.
