[Pharmacokinetics of naltrexone hydrochloride and naltrexone glucuronide in the dog].

Yao xue xue bao = Acta pharmaceutica Sinica, 1997
Pharmacokinetics of naltrexone hydrochloride (NTX) and naltrexone glucuronide was studied in the dog using HPLC-electrochemical detection with naloxone as internal standard. After iv 5 mg or po 10 mg NTX, the plasma concentration-time curves of NTX were found to fit to a two-compartment model and a single compartment with first-order absorption.

Effects of Alcohol on the Pharmacokinetics of Morphine Sulfate and Naltrexone Hydrochloride Extended Release Capsules

The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 2012
Although contraindicated, coingestion of alcohol and opioids by patients or drug abusers is a major health concern because of dangerous additive and potentially life‐threatening sedative and respiratory effects. In addition, alcohol has been shown to disrupt the extended‐release characteristics of certain extended‐release opioid formulations, releasing

Extended-release morphine sulfate and naltrexone hydrochloride (EMBEDA): naltrexone-associated withdrawal and abuse-related effects in patients with chronic pain and recreational opioid users

Current Medical Research and Opinion, 2018
To review the effects of naltrexone on withdrawal-related adverse events (AEs) and euphoria-related effects, and the relationship between plasma naltrexone concentrations and withdrawal across EMBEDA (MSN; extended-release morphine sulfate with sequestered naltrexone) studies.Five studies in pain patients and a safety review summarizing AE reports ...

Physicochemical Stability of Compounded Naltrexone Hydrochloride Solutions in PCCA Base SuspendIt.

International journal of pharmaceutical compounding, 2019
Naltrexone hydrochloride is an orally active narcotic antagonist used to facilitate rapid transition from methadone maintenance. The dosing schedule of naltrexone hydrochloride in detoxification protocols needs to be flexible to permit precise, customized dose titration for individual patients.

Preformulation characteristics of the opioid growth factor antagonist-naltrexone hydrochloride: stability and lipophilicity studies

Journal of Drug Delivery Science and Technology, 2011
In the last twenty years mesoporous materials (e.g., silica, silicon, and to a lesser extent titanium) have been extensively investigated as possible carriers for controlled drug delivery purposes. The great benefits of these materials are their high surface areas and pore volumes with tunable pore sizes and easily functionalized pore surface ...

A Placebo-Controlled, Double-Blind Crossover Study of Naltrexone Hydrochloride in Outpatients with Normal Weight Bulimia

Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology, 1989
The endogenous opioid system plays an important role in the control of feeding behavior. Previous research has shown that antagonism of endogenous opioids will suppress feeding in certain models in both human and infrahuman species. In the current study, 16 normal-weight bulimic women were treated with low-dose naltrexone, the long-acting, orally ...

Multivesicular liposomes for sustained release of naltrexone hydrochloride: design, characterization and in vitro/in vivo evaluation

Pharmaceutical Development and Technology, 2012
Multivesicular liposomes containing naltrexone hydrochloride (DepoNTX) was prepared by using the traditional DepoFoam technology and the key formulation factors on encapsulation efficiency and particle size were investigated. A morphological characterization and in vitro/in vivo release assay was also carried out.

Naltrexone hydrochloride (Trexan): a review of serum transaminase elevations at high dosage.

NIDA research monograph, 1986
In summary, evidence is presented associating typically asymptomatic and reversible elevations of serum transaminase values with high daily dosages of naltrexone. Statistical significance was found only between placebo and the 300 mg dosage. Subjects aged 40 years and over were significantly more likely to develop this finding than younger subjects ...
