Nanoemulsion is the major vehicle for delivering different types of drugs, nucleic acids, and imaging agents. Due to their attractive properties, it has been extensively used for diagnostics of cancer therapy and imaging. However, nanoemulsion is designed through multiple functions by modifications in surface and encapsulation of active compounds ...

The average droplet size of nanoemulsions, a type of emulsion, ranges from 20 to 200 nanometers. A system of two immiscible liquids, such as oil and water, is stabilised by the addition of an emulsifying agent to form an emulsion. As their name suggests, nanoemulsions include particles on the nanoscale, giving them a high surface area-to-volume ratio ...

A nanoemulsion is an emulsion with droplet size of 100 nm or less. The emulsifiers used in nanoemulsions include non-ionic emulsifiers such as polysorbates and sucrose esters, Zwitterionic emulsifiers such as lecithin, and food polymeric emulsifiers such as starch sodium octenyl succinate (OSA - starch).

Structure of concentrated nanoemulsions
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2005We use extreme shear to create a dispersion of nanoscale droplets of silicone oil in an immiscible water phase containing an anionic surfactant sodium dodecylsulfate. Using centrifugal size fractionation, we obtain nanoemulsions having a well-defined average radius of a=75nm.

Surfactant Partitioning in Nanoemulsions
Langmuir, 2018Using a fractionated silicone oil-in-water nanoemulsion (NEM), which has a high ratio of surface area-to-volume, we investigate surfactant partitioning between the bulk continuous phase and the adsorbed interfacial phase. By adjusting the droplet volume fraction of this fractionated NEM and by using gravimetric and electrical conductivity methods, we ...
