Room‐Temperature, Photo‐Densified High Refractive Index Titanium Oxide Thin Films for Solution‐Processed Flexible Bragg Mirrors and Microcavity OLEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents the room‐temperature fabrication of solution‐processed, high refractive index TiOX thin films via photo‐densification. Using these films, flexible Bragg mirrors are demonstrated on PET substrates, achieving a high reflectivity of 96% at 450 nm.

Microbial Contribution to Soiling and Its Impact on Photovoltaic Module Soiling in Arid Zones of the Atacama Desert

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
Microorganisms colonizing photovoltaic surfaces in the Atacama desert form biofilms that enhance particle adhesion and reduce energy yield. This study identifies UV‐resistant bacteria and carotenoid‐producing strains that interfere with PV performance.

Molecular Simulation of Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework Membranes for Inorganic Salt Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
Six functionalized TpPa‐based covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are characterized using nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations to assess water permeance and salt rejection. The TpPa‐SO3H COF membrane achieves the highest sodium sulfate rejection (>98%) while maintaining relatively high water permeance compared to commercial nanofiltration ...

Directing the Mobility of Guest Molecules in Nanoporous Materials by Linearly Polarized Light

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The polarization of light is introduced as a further parameter to dynamically and reversibly control the properties of a photoresponsive nanoporous material. It was used to control the mobility of the guest molecules in the pores of a metal–organic framework.
