Primed and ready: nanopore metabarcoding can now recover highly accurate consensus barcodes that are generally indel-free

open access: yesBMC Genomics
Background DNA metabarcoding applies high-throughput sequencing approaches to generate numerous DNA barcodes from mixed sample pools for mass species identification and community characterisation.

Nanopore sequencing of cerebrospinal fluid of three patients with cryptococcal meningitis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Medical Research, 2022
Background Cryptococcal meningitis (CM) has a high morbidity and mortality due to the low detection of Cryptococcus in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) during the early stage of the disease with traditional methods.

Clinical metagenomics. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Clinical metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS), the comprehensive analysis of microbial and host genetic material (DNA and RNA) in samples from patients, is rapidly moving from research to clinical laboratories. This emerging approach is changing

Identification of single nucleotides in MoS2 nanopores [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Ultrathin membranes have drawn much attention due to their unprecedented spatial resolution for DNA nanopore sequencing. However, the high translocation velocity (3000-50000 nt/ms) of DNA molecules moving across such membranes limits their usability.

Evaluation of the accuracy of bacterial genome reconstruction with Oxford Nanopore R10.4.1 long-read-only sequencing

open access: yesbioRxiv
Whole genome reconstruction of bacterial pathogens has become an import tool for tracking antimicrobial resistance spread, however accurate and complete assemblies have only been achievable using hybrid long and short-read sequencing.

Intrinsic Nanopore‐Assisted SnP2S6 Memristors With Ti Ion Dynamics for Compact Logic‐In‐Memory Hardware

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tin hexathiophosphate memristors leverage intrinsic nanopores together with a guided filament formation strategy to regulate titanium ion motion and switching behavior. The devices support reliable nonvolatile memory and reconfigurable logic‐in‐memory, demonstrating 14 Boolean logic functions in a single cell.

Real-Time Detection of Deoxyribonucleic Acid Bases via their Negative Differential Conductance Signature

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we present a method for the real-time detection of the bases of the deoxyribonucleic acid using their signatures in negative differential conductance measurements.

A complete bacterial genome assembled de novo using only nanopore sequencing data

open access: yesNature Methods, 2015
We have assembled de novo the Escherichia coli K-12 MG1655 chromosome in a single 4.6-Mb contig using only nanopore data. Our method has three stages: (i) overlaps are detected between reads and then corrected by a multiple-alignment process; (ii ...
