Synthesis of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols based on a three-component reaction catalyzed by boric acid as a solid heterogeneous catalyst under solvent-free conditions

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia, 2012
An efficient method for the preparation of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols has been described using a multi-component, one-pot condensation reaction of 2-naphthol, aldehydes and amides in the presence of boric acid under solvent-free conditions.DOI: http://dx ...

Sensitivity Analysis for Multiple Comparisons in Matched Observational Studies through Quadratically Constrained Linear Programming

open access: yes, 2015
A sensitivity analysis in an observational study assesses the robustness of significant findings to unmeasured confounding. While sensitivity analyses in matched observational studies have been well addressed when there is a single outcome variable ...

Organometallic Precursor‐Induced Gradient Architecture on Multilayer Nanoporous Graphene Membranes for Precise Organic Solvent Nanofiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 27, 2 April 2026.
Alumina growth narrows surface pores and seals non‐selective defects, enhancing selectivity while preserving the nanoporous graphene architecture. Additionally, the deposition enables gradient‐controlled structural modification, with intergrown alumina acting as a physical cross‐linker that stabilizes the laminar structure.

A convenient three-component synthesis of carbamatoalkyl naphthols catalyzed by cerium ammonium nitrate

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia, 2013
A highly efficient synthesis of carbamatoalkyl naphthols has been performed by a one-pot three-component condensation of 2-naphthol, aldehydes, and methyl/ethyl/benzyl carbamates in the presence of cerium ammonium nitrate under solvent-free conditions at

Noncovalent Interactions Governing Self‐Assembly of Oligomeric Phenolic Surfactant Film Models

open access: yesJournal of Physical Organic Chemistry, Volume 39, Issue 4, April 2026.
Computational modelling of gallate‐derivative trimers reveals that ester and meta hydroxy groups favour formation of π‐stacked arrangements over cyclic arrangements, through C‐H…O and meta O‐H…O interactions. The ester derivatives serve as surfactant analogues for which the linker between the headgroup and alkyl chain is shown to play a defining role ...

Dynamics and Conformational Stability of Chiral Bay‐Phenolate‐Substituted Twisted Octaazaperopyrenedioxides (OAPPDOs)

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 10, 9 March 2026.
Chiral octaazaperopyrenedioxide (OAPPDO) fluorophores were obtained by functionalizing with BINOL and related fragments bridging the bay position. They possess conformational flexibility but remarkable thermal stability with respect to racemization of the central chromophore, which allowed the study of their chiroptical properties, including circular ...

Catalytic Amyloids: Turning Fibrils Into Biocatalysts

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 10, 9 March 2026.
Amyloids, traditionally associated with diseases, have emerged as versatile catalytic scaffolds. From natural amyloid sequences to bioinspired and de novo designs, we highlight strategies to construct catalytic active sites and anchor enzymes onto fibrils, creating versatile nanomaterials with tunable activities. ABSTRACT Amyloids have been regarded as
