Domination by Positive Narrow Operators

Positivity, 2003
Let \(E (\mu)\) be a Köthe function space on a probability space \((\Omega, \Sigma, \mu)\) with an atomless measure \(\mu\) and \(Y\) be a Banach space. An operator \(T: E (\mu) \to Y\) is called narrow if for each measurable set \(A \in \Sigma\) and very \(\varepsilon > 0\) there is a partition \(\{A_1, A_2\}\) of \(A\) with \(\mu (A_1) = \mu (A_2 ...

Dividing measures and narrow operators

Studia Mathematica, 2016
Summary: We use a new technique of measures on Boolean algebras to investigate narrow operators on vector lattices. First we prove that, under mild assumptions, every finite rank operator is strictly narrow (before it was known that such operators are narrow). Then we show that every order continuous operator from an atomless vector lattice to a purely

Narrow and Standard Gauge Lines Operations

IEEE Industry Applications Magazine, 2008
This article illustrates a novel design of traction power converter and the specified control strategy of traction equipment of the GCT. We also introduce the test results to verify the basic function of the propulsion system and refer to the operating results in the gauge changing section to verify the control strategy.

A lattice approach to narrow operators

Positivity, 2008
The authors extend the notion of a narrow operator to the general case of vector lattice. They prove that the set \(N_{r} (E,F)\) of all narrow regular operators forms a band in the vector lattice \(L_{r} (E,F)\) of all regular operators from a non-atomic order continuous Banach lattice \(E\) to an order continuous Banach lattice \(F\). In view of this

Narrow operators on tensor products of Köthe spaces

Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2023
The authors study a problem posed by \textit{D. A. Vogan jun.} [Ann. Math. (2) 120, 141--187 (1984; Zbl 0561.22010)] asking whether there exists a Köthe-Banach space on \([0,1]\) with absolutely continuous norm without an unconditional basis in which the identity operator is the sum of two narrow operators.

Narrow linewidth operation of a flashlamp-pumped dye laser

Applied Optics, 1982
The authors describe a flashlamp-pumped dye laser system that produces more photons per laser pulse than in nitrogen or Nd:YAG laser-pumped dye lasers. The system uses both a grazing incidence grating and a Littrow mounted grating in conjunction with an elliptical cavity.

Perturbation of the Hill operator by narrow potentials

open access: closedRussian Mathematics, 2017
The operator, considered in the paper, is a special case of the Hill operator, a perturbation of a periodic second order differential operator, defined on the real axis, which describes the one-dimensional model of the Bloch electron in a crystal placed in an external electric field.

Integrated wide‐narrow band antenna for switched operation

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2010
AbstractCognitive Radio (CR) is a new paradigm which promises to yield an improved quality of service for the user, whilst also enabling more intensive use of the available radio frequency spectrum. Some experts believe that CR will require both wide and narrowband antennas for performing the search and communication function.

Narrow- control-bandwidth Operation of Piezoelectric-transformer Converter

2007 7th International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems, 2007
According to the operating and efficiency properties of piezoelectric-transformer, an input matching network (abbrev. IMN) attached to it is proposed in this paper. The main contributions are as follows: (1) The operating principles of piezoelectric-transformer are analyzed and its IMN is put forward.
