Land‐Based Functional Rehabilitation Versus Aquatic Therapy on the Quality of Life of Individuals With Chronic Chikungunya: A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesPhysiotherapy Research International, Volume 31, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Purpose Chikungunya may progress to a chronic phase marked by persistent pain and functional impairment, reducing the quality of life. Exercise‐based rehabilitation is essential, though comparisons between different modalities remain scarce. Exercises in an aquatic environment can be designed as a task‐oriented intervention that

Utilization of Thermally Modified Water Treatment Plant Sludge as an Adsorbent for Fluoride Removal

open access: yesEnvironmental Quality Management, Volume 36, Issue 1, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The presence of fluoride (F−) at high concentrations in drinking water is a global concern due to its adverse health effects. This study evaluated the removal of F− ions by adsorption using an adsorbent produced from thermally modified water treatment plant sludge (TWTPS), providing an efficient and low‐cost alternative for contaminated water ...

From Yield to Flavor: The Role of Lipid Coatings in Beef Aging

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Lipid‐coated aging has been proposed as an alternative to enhance flavor, particularly using butter as a coating material (butter‐aged beef). Thus, this study compared the wet‐aged and beef‐aged with different lipid‐based coatings: milk butter (butter‐aged), cocoa butter (cocoa‐aged), pork lard (lard‐aged), and beef tallow (tallow‐aged), all ...

The Diagnostic Odyssey of a Biochemically Confirmed Case of ML II: The First Western Patient With LYSET Deficiency

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 110, Issue 1, Page 125-130, July 2026.
We identify a female patient with a homozygous nonsense variant (p.Gln38Ter) in the LYSET gene. This is the first western report of a challenging case of an extensive diagnostic odyssey and demonstrates that the LYSET gene must be considered in the differential diagnosis when M6P‐labeled lysosomal enzymes are altered.
