Resveratrol‐Induced Suppression of C‐type Natriuretic Peptide Associates With Increased Vertebral Bone Density in Postmenopausal Women

open access: yesJBMR Plus, 2023
C‐type natriuretic peptide (CNP) is a paracrine growth factor essential in driving endochondral bone growth in mammals including humans. Despite evidence from animal experiments and tissues that CNP signaling stimulates osteoblast proliferation and ...

B-type natriuretic peptide-guided treatment for heart failure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background Heart failure is a condition in which the heart does not pump enough blood to meet all the needs of the body. Symptoms of heart failure include breathlessness, fatigue and fluid retention.

A Multi-marker Model for Predicting Decompensated Heart Failure in Patients with Prior Acute Myocardial Infarction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The aim of the study was to assess the prognostic value of determining the plasma concentration of NT-proBNP and ST2 in the patients with decompensated HF and prior acute myocardial infarction and their combination in this category of patients.Materials ...

Rapamycin Alleviates Heart Failure Caused by Mitochondrial Dysfunction and SERCA Hypoactivity in Syntaxin 12/13 Deficient Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rapamycin alleviates heart failure via TFEB and CaMKII pathways in Syntaxin 12/13 deficient models. Stx12 deficiency causes heart failure via impaired iron trafficking to mitochondria, reducing respiratory complexes and sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+‐ATPase (SERCA).

GUANYLYL CYCLASE/NATRIURETIC PEPTIDES RECEPTOR-A SIGNALING ANTAGONIZES PHOSPHOINOSITIDE HYDROLYSIS, Ca2+ RELEASE, AND ACTIVATION OF PROTEIN KINASE C

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Neuroscience, 2014
Thus far, three related natriuretic peptides (NPs) and three distinct sub-types of cognate NP receptors have been identified and characterized based on the specific ligand binding affinities, guanylyl cyclase activity, and generation of intracellular ...

ALKBH5‐Mediated M6A Demethylation of G3BP1 Attenuates Ferroptosis Via Cytoplasmic Retention of YBX1/p53 in Diabetic Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ALKBH5 promoted G3BP1 expression via m⁶A methylation at sites 142/173. G3BP1 interacts with YBX1 and p53, reducing their nuclear translocation and decreasing p53‐mediated SLC7A11 repression. This inhibites cardiomyocyte ferroptosis and mitigates myocardial damage during diabetic ischemia‐reperfusion injury.

NT -pro BNP as a Mediator of the Racial Difference in Incident Atrial Fibrillation and Heart Failure. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background Blacks harbor more cardiovascular risk factors than whites, but experience less atrial fibrillation ( AF ). Conversely, whites may have a lower risk of heart failure ( CHF ).

LncRNA Foxo6os as a Novel “ Scaffold” Mediates MYBPC3 in Combating Pathological Cardiac Hypertrophy and Heart Failure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic overview showing that forkhead box O6, opposite strand (Foxo6os) acts as a “scaffold”, directly binding myosin‐binding protein‐C (MYBPC3) and recruiting protein kinase C (PKC‐α) to mediate site‐specific phosphorylation of MYBPC3. This post‐translational modification supports cardiac contraction by regulating L‐type Ca2+ channels, especially ...

Is C-type natriuretic peptid level can be an early indicator for acute kidney injury?

open access: yesMedicine Science, 2020
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is defined as a reduction of renal function in hours, including both structural damage and loss of function. There are limited number of biomarkers for early detection and staging of severity.
