The Nature of Nature as a Stakeholder [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Business Ethics, 2010
There is a longstanding debate in the stakeholder literature as to who and what really counts as the stakeholders of the firm. Likewise, there have been discussions on whether nature should be considered a stakeholder of the firm. However, one seldom encounters any definitions of the key concepts, that is of nature or the natural environment.

Performance Evaluation Of The New Natural And Environmentally Friendly Material For Lost Circulation Control At High Pressure And Hight Temperature

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Science and Engineering, 2023
Lost circulation refers to the loss of a part or whole drilling fluid into the formation and is considered as one of the most challenges in drilling operations. It could be occurred either naturally in highly fractured formations or induced by excessive

The Naturalization of Natural Philosophy [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophies, 2018
A new demarcation is proposed between Natural Philosophy and non-Natural Philosophy—philosophy tout court—based on whether or not they follow a non-standard logic of real processes. This non-propositional logic, Logic in Reality (LIR), is based on the original work of the Franco-Romanian thinker Stéphane Lupasco (Bucharest, 1900–Paris, 1988).

On Graphs, Groups and Geometry [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
A metric space (X,d) is declared to be natural if (X,d) determines an up to isomorphism unique group structure (X,+) on the set X such that all the group translations and group inversion are isometries. A group is called natural if it emerges like this from a natural metric.

Beyond Bags of Features: Spatial Pyramid Matching for Recognizing Natural Scene Categories

open access: yesComputer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2006
This paper presents a method for recognizing scene categories based on approximate global geometric correspondence. This technique works by partitioning the image into increasingly fine sub-regions and computing histograms of local features found inside ...

The classification of 7- and 8-dimensional naturally reductive spaces [PDF]

open access: yesCan. J. Math.-J. Can. Math. 72 (2020) 1246-1274, 2018
A new method for classifying naturally reductive spaces is presented. This method relies on the structure theory of naturally reductive spaces developed in \cite{Storm2018a} and the new construction of naturally reductive spaces in \cite{Storm2018}. We obtain the classification of all naturally reductive spaces in dimension 7 and 8.

A Dietary Plant Extract Formulation Helps Reduce Flea Populations in Cats: A Double-Blind Randomized Study

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2023
There is a growing demand for natural products to be used to control fleas in pets. A prospective, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study evaluated the efficacy of the biological plant-based food supplement Bioticks® (thyme, rosemary, lemon ...

The Crystal Structure of Mg–Al–CO3 Layered Double Hydroxide

open access: yesCrystals, 2023
The crystal structure of quintinite, Mg4Al2(OH)12(CO3)·3H2O, from the Jacupiranga alkaline complex (Cajati, São Paulo, Brazil), was refined for two samples (91002 and C7029) using single-crystal X-ray diffraction data.

Impacts of nature deprivations during the COVID-19 pandemic: A pre-post comparison [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Nature provides a myriad of intangible and non-material services to people. However, urbanites are increasingly disconnected from the natural world. The consequences of this progressive disconnection from nature remain difficult to measure as this process is slow and long-term monitoring or large-scale manipulation on nature experiences are scarce ...
