Plants would release herbivore-induced plant volatiles (HIPVs) to repel herbivores and attract natural enemies after being damaged by herbivores. In this study, after cotton plants were damaged by different densities of Apolygus lucorum, the behavioral ...

On conjectures of Sato-Tate and Bruinier-Kohnen [PDF]
This article covers three topics. (1) It establishes links between the density of certain subsets of the set of primes and related subsets of the set of natural numbers. (2) It extends previous results on a conjecture of Bruinier and Kohnen in three ways:

A natural orbital functional for the many-electron problem [PDF]
The exchange-correlation energy in Kohn-Sham density functional theory is expressed as a functional of the electronic density and the Kohn-Sham orbitals.

Reduced population control of an insect pest in managed willow monocultures. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: There is a general belief that insect outbreak risk is higher in plant monocultures than in natural and more diverse habitats, although empirical studies investigating this relationship are lacking. In this study, using density data collected

Elastocaloric Waste/Natural Rubber Materials with Various Crosslink Densities
The characterization of the mechanical behavior of elastocaloric materials is essential to identify their viability in heating/cooling devices. Natural rubber (NR) is a promising elastocaloric (eC) polymer as it requires low external stress to induce a wide temperature span, ΔT.

Improved Density Peaks Clustering Based on Natural Neighbor Expanded Group
Density peaks clustering (DPC) is an advanced clustering technique due to its multiple advantages of efficiently determining cluster centers, fewer arguments, no iterations, no border noise, etc.

Cross-Linked Density Determination of Natural Rubber Compounds by Different Analytical Techniques
This paper investigated the formation of crosslinks in natural rubber compounds in the vulcanization systems: conventional (CV), semi-efficient (SEV), and efficient (EV), processed with three types of accelerators: MBTS (dibenzothiazole disulfide), TMTD (

A generalization of natural density
The concept of natural density is generalized. It is proved that the new theory is consistent with the existing theory in the literature. Many new results were obtained. A theorem analogous to the Riemann’s theorem on rearrangement of non-absolutely convergent series is proved in the sense of generalized natural density.

NATURAL SELECTION AND DENSITY-DEPENDENT POPULATION GROWTH
ABSTRACT Natural selection was studied in the context of density-dependent population growth using a single locus, continuous time model for the rates of change of population size and allele frequency. The maximization principle of density-dependent selection was applied to a class of fitness expressions with explicit recruitment and ...
