A Review of Mechanical Reinforcement and Piezoresistive Self‐Sensing in Carbon Nanotube Fiber Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue 16, Page 14313-14338, 20 August 2026.
PSPP‐TRL mapping of CNT‐modified CFRP literature, with four recurring confusions resolved and five scale‐up problems quantified. ABSTRACT Carbon nanotube‐modified fiber composites are often presented as a route to stronger, tougher, and self‐sensing structural materials.

Defining the Residual Resource of Metallurgical Equipment Components Under Limited Data Conditions

open access: yesApplied Research, Volume 5, Issue 4, August 2026.
This study demonstrates that a Random Forest model accurately predicts the residual life of rolling mill bronze bearing liners under limited data conditions (n = 36). Achieving high accuracy (MSE = 0.125), this approach enables proactive maintenance planning, minimizes unplanned downtime, and supports Industry 4.0 integration in metallurgical equipment

Effects of Safe Early Intervention Approach: A 3‐Year Follow‐Up

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
What's Known? Early intervention can prevent developmental delays. The SAFE early intervention approach implemented during the first months of life has positive effects across developmental domains. What's new? This study is the first to report long‐term follow‐up outcomes of the SAFE early intervention approach.

Acoustic emission based deep learning technique to predict adhesive bond strength of laser processed CFRP composites [PDF]

open access: yesFME Transactions, 2020
The high degree of inhomogeneity in material and intricacies created by machining of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) composites hinder the accurate prediction of residual strength of the adhesive bond joint using analytical models.

Looking Through Paintings by Combining Hyper-Spectral Imaging and Pulse-Compression Thermography

open access: yesSensors, 2019
The use of different spectral bands in the inspection of artworks is highly recommended to identify the maximum number of defects/anomalies (i.e., the targets), whose presence ought to be known before any possible restoration action.

Metabolic Regulation of Macrophages in Health and Disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
Extracellular metabolites drive metabolic rewiring of glucose, lipid, and amino acid pathways in macrophages, steering their polarization toward pro‐ or anti‐inflammatory phenotypes and shaping a wide range of disease processes. Macrophages from different tissues display distinct metabolic signatures, and therapeutic strategies that target these ...
