Clinical Predictors of Tic‐Related Impairment in Children and Adults with Tourette Syndrome

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Tic‐related impairment drives treatment decisions for Tourette syndrome and related tic disorders. The clinical features most strongly associated with impairment remain unclear. Objective The aim of this analysis is to identify clinical predictors of tic‐related impairment in children and adults with tic disorders in a prospective ...

Unmanned Aerial Systems for Corrosion Detection: Multi‐Sensor Technologies, Challenges, and Opportunities for Next‐Generation Inspection

open access: yesQuality and Reliability Engineering International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Corrosion remains a critical threat to the integrity and service life of infrastructure in industries such as oil, gas, construction, renewable energy, and transportation. Traditional inspection methods, being labor‐intensive, hazardous, and often subjective, fall short in addressing modern inspection demands.

Increasing the Reuse Potential of High‐Strength Steels by Extending the Fatigue Life through Surface Treatments

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Surface reconditioning through mechanical and electrochemical polishing is shown to extend the fatigue life of predamaged 42CrMo4 steel by over 12 times. By removing ≈100 μm of surface material, surface‐driven fatigue damage is mitigated. This study introduces a reuse potential metric to evaluate fatigue recovery and support sustainable steel reuse. Probabilistic estimation of reliable sensor spacing for wire break detection in prestressed concrete using acoustic emission technique

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract The acoustic emission (AE) technique has proven to be an effective method for detecting individual wire breaks in prestressed concrete structures affected by stress corrosion cracking (SCC). However, despite its widespread application, the quantitative assessment of AE monitoring reliability and optimal sensor placement remains unresolved ...
