Designing chiral organic small molecules for circularly polarized light detection via group theory

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
The chiral point group determines the arrangement of the μ‐m of chiral organic small molecules, thereby influencing their chiral photoelectric properties. In particular, chiral molecules with the D2 point group can effectively align the μ‐m to be either 0° or 180°, an effective strategy for high‐performance circularly polarized light photodetectors ...

First results from high redshift quasar searches in VIKING [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This thesis presents the discovery of the first luminous z & 6.5 quasars in the VISTA kilo-degree Infrared Galaxy Survey (VIKING). After some basic quality control, quasar selection is investigated via use of initial data supplementedwith ...

Near-ultraviolet Excess in Slowly Accreting T Tauri Stars: Limits Imposed by Chromospheric Emission [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Young stars surrounded by disks with very low mass accretion rates are likely in the final stages of inner disk evolution and therefore particularly interesting to study.

Synthesis of Core–Shell Te@Se Quantum Dots and Their Broadband Photodetector Performance in Low Concentration Electrolytes

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Te@Se core–shell heterojunction quantum dots (QDs) are synthesized by a two‐step strategy via combining liquid‐phase exfoliation and epitaxial growth. As active materials in photoelectrochemical photodetectors, Te@Se QDs exhibit excellent photo‐response performance in low‐concentration electrolytes and deionized water.

From Flybys to Sample Return: A Review of Space Probes and Robotic Sampling Technologies for Small Bodies

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As a crucial puzzle piece of deep space exploration, exploring small bodies can provide significant scientific insights and valuable mineral resources. Unlike missions to the Moon and Mars, small‐body missions pose distinct technical challenges, including communication delays, weak gravity, and uncertain environments. This paper reviews a full

Single‐Particle Insights Into the Electronic Structure and Enhanced Stability of CsPbBr3/FAPbBr3 Core/Crown Nanoplatelets at the Nanometer Scale

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Single‐particle‐level investigation using scanning tunneling spectroscopy reveals electronic structure and type‐I band alignment of individual CsPbBr3@FAPbBr3 core‐crown nanoplatelet. Crown passivation suppresses deep trap states by 47% and markedly improves electrical stability under repeated bias sweeps.
