The Case of a 28‐Year‐Old Woman With Medically Refractory Focal Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present the case of a 28‐year‐old right‐handed woman with medically refractory focal epilepsy. Her seizure semiology and electroencephalography (EEG) indicated a seizure onset zone in the right central‐parietal area. However, both MRI and PET scans were unremarkable, showing no focal lesions or areas of altered metabolism.

Characterization of nebulized buparvaquone nanosuspensions—effect of nebulization technology [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Drug Targeting, 2005
The poorly soluble drug buparvaquone is proposed as an alternative treatment of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) lung infections. Physically stable nanosuspensions were formulated in order to deliver the drug at the site of infection using nebulization.

Adjustment of Coatings Morphology and Particle Distribution of Layered Silicates by Freeze‐Drying for Improved Gas Barriers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Freeze‐drying of layered silicate is the key to get coatings with superior gas barrier. Freeze‐drying of layered silicates modified with dodecylamine (DDA) is a highly effective technique for the preparation of barrier pigments that significantly mitigate the permeation of oxygen, water vapor, and hydrogen through polymer films containing these ...

Multimodal Mechanical Testing of Additively Manufactured Ti6Al4V Lattice Structures: Compression, Bending, and Fatigue

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting
