Ultracold muonium negative ion production [PDF]
A new, efficient method to produce ultracold negative muon ions is proposed. The muonium atom is made up of an antimuon and an electron and is given the chemical symbol Mu. A second electron with binding energy or electron affinity of 0.75 eV makes the Mu- ion, which is in many ways almost identical to the H- ion that is used for charge-exchange ...

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Multiphoton detachment from negative ions: new theory vs experiment [PDF]
In this paper we compare the results of our adiabatic theory (Gribakin and Kuchiev, Phys. Rev. A, accepted for publication) with other theoretical and experimental results, mostly for halogen negative ions. The theory is based on the Keldysh approach. It

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Transport of F- ions in gaseous environment for technological applications [PDF]
In this work we present swarm data obtained for F- ions in atomic and molecular gases necessary to form the global models for the complex collisional plasmas.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

The bactericidal effects of negative ions in air [PDF]
The use of negative ions to improve indoor air quality has attracted increasing attention in recent years. Although the physical action of air ionisers is accepted, there is still debate over their apparent biocidal action.

This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Numerical Simulation of the Dynamics of RF Capacitive Discharge in Carbon Dioxide
In this research, the one-dimensional fluid code SIGLO-rf was used to study the internal parameters of RF capacitive discharge in carbon dioxide, focusing mainly on time-averaged and spatio-temporal distributions of discharge parameters. With the help of
