Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

ISPst9, an ISL3-like insertion sequence from Pseudomonas stutzeri AN10 involved in catabolic gene inactivation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A novel insertion sequence (IS), ISPst9, from Pseudomonas stutzeri AN10 was cloned and characterized. ISPst9 is a typical bacterial IS, consisting of a 2472-bp element flanked by 24-bp perfect inverted repeats that generates 8-bp AT-rich target ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

A Control Method for Unbalanced Current in Grid Type Energy Storage Based on Negative Sequence Virtual Impedance

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Circuits and Systems
Grid type energy storage has inertia support capability, and unbalanced grid voltage will cause grid type energy storage current fluctuation and active power fluctuation.

Investigation on Stator Winding Inter-turns Short Circuit Fault Diagnosis

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology, 2018
On the basis of negative sequence current generation mechanism analysis of synchronous generator stator winding inter-turns short circuit, the method of detecting and diagnosing synchronous generator stator winding inter-turns short circuit is proposed ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
