Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Idealizing Rough Topological Structures Generated by Several Types of Maximal Neighborhoods and Exploring Their Applications

open access: yesAxioms
Several different topologies utilizing ideals are created and compared with previous topologies. The results show that the previous ones are weaker than the current ones and that the current ones are stronger. The merits of these topologies are proposed,

Maximum Principles for Null Hypersurfaces and Null Splitting Theorems

open access: yes, 1999
A maximum principle for C^0 null hypersurfaces is obtained and used to derive a splitting theorem for spacetimes which contain null lines. As a consequence of this null splitting theorem, it is proved that an asymptotically simple vacuum (Ricci flat ...

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Rough matroids based on coverings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The introduction of covering-based rough sets has made a substantial contribution to the classical rough sets. However, many vital problems in rough sets, including attribution reduction, are NP-hard and therefore the algorithms for solving them are ...

Automatic structures, rational growth and geometrically finite hyperbolic groups

open access: yes, 1994
We show that the set $SA(G)$ of equivalence classes of synchronously automatic structures on a geometrically finite hyperbolic group $G$ is dense in the product of the sets $SA(P)$ over all maximal parabolic subgroups $P$. The set $BSA(G)$ of equivalence

Covering rough sets based on neighborhoods: An approach without using neighborhoods

open access: yesInternational Journal of Approximate Reasoning, 2011
Rough set theory, a mathematical tool to deal with inexact or uncertain knowledge in information systems, has originally described the indiscernibility of elements by equivalence relations. Covering rough sets are a natural extension of classical rough sets by relaxing the partitions arising from equivalence relations to coverings.

IV Thrombolysis Facilitates Interventional Reperfusion in Non‐Cardioembolic but Not Cardioembolic Stroke

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) before thrombectomy for ischemic stroke may alter clot structure and procedural performance. We investigated how IVT relates to thrombectomy metrics across stroke etiologies. Methods We performed a time‐to‐event analysis of consecutive patients with anterior circulation large vessel occlusion (acLVO ...

Feature selection based on self-information and entropy measures for incomplete neighborhood decision systems

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems, 2022
For incomplete datasets with mixed numerical and symbolic features, feature selection based on neighborhood multi-granulation rough sets (NMRS) is developing rapidly.
