Utility of Anhydrous Neodymium Nitrate as a Precursor to Extended Organoneodymium Nitrate Networks

open access: yesInorganic Chemistry, 2004
Hydrated neodymium nitrates can be readily transformed to anhydrous ether solvates which react with cyclopentadienyl reagents to make organometallic nitrate complexes with variable degrees of oligomerization. Heating Nd(NO(3))(3)(H(2)O)(6) in tetrahydrofuran at reflux, removal of solvent, drying at 100 degrees C under high vacuum, and addition of hot ...

The thermal decomposition of neodymium nitrate

open access: yesThermochimica Acta, 1986
Abstract The thermal decomposition of Nd(NO3)3 was reinvestigated. The decomposition kinetics are described by a diffusion mechanism. The rate constant was found to be temperature dependent below 390°C with an apparent activation energy of 805 kJ mol−1 and almost temperature independent above 390°C with an apparent activation energy of 65 kJ mol−1 ...

Use of neodymium nitrate in electron microscopic histochemical demonstration of ATP-ase

Histochemistry, 1974
Neodymium nitrate has been used instead of lead nitrate in the modified Wachstein-Meisel incubation solution. Neodymium reacts easily with the anorganic phosphate groups. The rare earth metal has strong electron scattering property. It was used in 3,0 mM concentration in the incubation solution.

Crystallographic study of neodymium nitrate hexahydrate

Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 1982
Crystallographic studies of Ln(NO/sub 3/)/sub 3/.6H/sub 2/O compounds have pointed out that rare earth nitrate hexahydrates, Ln = Pr, Nd, and Sm, are isotypic. However, their triclinic crystals were not described and no indexed X-ray diffractograms were published. In addition no crystalline parameter values were proposed for Nd(NO/sub 3/)/sub 3/.6H/sub
