Spectra of neodymium(III) in nitrate-water and nitrate-chloride melts

Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1974
Abstract The absorption spectra of neodymium have been recorded in LiNO 3 KNO 3 eutectic and its mixtures with water or chloride ions in the temperature range between 80 and 350°C. While the positions of the absorption bands in the visible region are not substantially different in the various media studied, the molar absorptivities of some of the ...

Phosphine oxides complexes of neodymium(III) nitrate

Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry Letters, 1978
Abstract Solid complexes of some tertiary phosphine oxides with neodymium (III) nitrate have been prepared and characterized by analysis, conductivity in nitromethane solutions, IR and visible spectroscopy. The general formula is Nd3(NO3)3L3 L = TPPO, BDPPO, DBPPO, TBPO, TEPO or TMPO (triphenyl-, benzyldiphenyl-, dibenzy 1 phenyl-, tribenzyl ...

The magnetic and caloric properties of neodymium magnesium nitrate

Physica, 1962
Abstract Measurements have been made on the magnetic and caloric properties of neodymium magnesium nitrate. The anistropic g -factor has been measured by means of adiabatic demagnetization experiments in which the field strength and the direction of the field with respect to the crystal axis were varied.

Conversion of neodymium oxide with N2O4 into nitrate followed by supercritical fluid extraction of nitrate

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2010
A novel method that spent nuclear fuel is converted into nitrates with N2O4, and then nitrates are extracted with TBP in supercritical CO2 (SC-CO2), has been developed for reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel, which has a potential prospect because of its potential to decrease generation of the secondary liquid waste.

Thermodynamic stability of neodymium nitrate complex with 1,10-phenanthroline

Russian Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2007
The thermodynamic stability of neodymium nitrate complex with 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen) was determined by mass spectrometry. The complex was formulated as Nd(NO3)3 · 2C12H8N2 on the basis of elemental analysis. Mass spectrometry allowed us to characterize the decomposition of Nd(NO3)3 · 2C12H8N2 thermodynamically.

The optical absorption spectrum of stoichiometric neodymium nitrate hexahydrate

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1977
The optical absorption spectrum of single crystals of neodymium nitrate hexahydrated with the stoichiometric composition (that is, without analytical excess of nitrogen) was recorded at 4.2 K between 10 000 and 33 000 cm−1. The theoretical analysis was undertaken through a computer program which takes into account free-atom classical operators ...
