The Journal of Supercritical Fluids, 2004
Abstract Complex formation reactions of praseodymium nitrate hexahydrate, and neodymium nitrate hexahydrate salts with tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP) and several other neutral organophosphorus reagents were investigated in supercritical carbon dioxide. The concentration of the metal complexes in the supercritical fluid (SCF) phase was determined using ...

The separation of neodymium by quaternary amine from didymium nitrate solution
Journal of the Less Common Metals, 1989The extraction of neodymium from didymium nitrate solution (a mixture of 83% Nd, 15% Pr and 2% other rare earths) by quaternary amine (Aliquat 336) was studied in a 45-stage tube-type mixer-settler. Six different banks in the system were used for solvent pretreatment, neodymium-stripping, feed-loading, neodymium-loading, NdPr partition and protactinium-

A temperature scale for neodymium zinc nitrate below 1 K
Cryogenics, 1970Abstract The thermodynamic temperature scale, as a function of initial conditions for adiabatic demagnetization, has been constructed for single crystals of Nd 2 Zn 3 (NO 3 ) 1 2 . 24H 2 O between 0·01 and 1 K using, as a thermometer, the anisotropy of gamma-rays following the decay of Co 60 .

Complex formation in the neodymium nitrate-tributyl phosphate-water system
Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1964Abstract The solvent extraction system, neodymium nitrate-tributyl phosphate-water, was studied to obtain information on the nature of solvent-solute complex formation. Infra-red spectra of the organic phase and composition and weight measurements made with equilibrium experiments led to three primary conclusions: 1. (1) Complexing takes place at

A study of the dynamical properties of a neodymium nitrate crystal with metastable phenomena
Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1994Abstract The dynamical properties of a neodymium nitrate crystal with metastable phenomena have been derived from the behaviour of AC conductivity spectra in the range from 20 Hz to 1 MHz at temperatures in the region from −60°C to 30°C. A slow metastable relaxation process with duration 10−3 s has been found.

Analysis of the Optical Absorption Spectrum of Neodymium Magnesium Nitrate
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1963The optical absorption spectrum and magnetic properties of Nd2 Mg3 (NO3)12·24H2O have been interpreted in the light of crystalline field theory, using intermediate coupling calculations within each level of the free Nd3+ ion. A field of C3v symmetry has been used to account successfully for most of the observed crystal field energy levels and their ...

Thermoanalytical behavior of neodymium nitrate hexahydrate Nd(NO3)3·6H2O
Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2019The hexahydrate Nd(NO3)3·6H2O melts in its water of crystallization at 328 K. There are no phase transitions at least above 233 K. Similar to other nitrates in the lanthanide series, its thermal decomposition is a gradual process, which entails the formation of a cluster 6[Nd(NO3)3·6H2O] after the condensation of 6 mol of the initial monomer.

Stimulated Raman scattering of the second harmonic of a neodymium laser in nitrate crystals
Soviet Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1980An investigation was made of the efficiency of stimulated Raman scattering in sodium, barium, and lead nitrates, compared with that in calcite. Measurements were made of the energies of two Stokes components of stimulated Raman scattering. The suitability of nitrate crystals for Raman stimulated emission was demonstrated.
