Synonymous nucleotide substitutions in the neonatal Fc receptor
Immunogenetics, 2002The neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) is a key receptor involved in the transcytosis of IgG across the maternal-fetal barrier. The level of IgG varies considerably among newborn infants. Since other Fc gamma receptors show single nucleotide functional variants, we determined whether common variant alleles exist for the FcRn.

Crystal structure of the complex of rat neonatal Fc receptor with Fc
Nature, 1994The neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) transports maternal immunoglobulin G (IgG) to the bloodstream of the newborn. FcRn is structurally similar to class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules, despite differences in the ligands they bind (the Fc portion of IgG and antigenic peptides, respectively).

Polymorphisms of Neonatal Fc Receptor in Cynomolgus and Rhesus Macaques
Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics, 2014Neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn), a heterodimer of MHC class I-like protein and β2-microglobulin, encoded by FCGRT and B2M, respectively, is important for recycling immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies by binding with the Fc region of IgG. Cynomolgus macaques are important animal species used in the evaluation of therapeutic antibodies, largely due to sequence

Isolation of the gene encoding the bovine neonatal Fc receptor
Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 2005The role of an IgG-Fc receptor (FcRn) that resembles a class I MHC Ag in transporting IgGs through epithelial cells was recently shown in selected species. Here we report our preliminary characterization of a clone encoding the alpha chain of the bovine FcRn from a BAC library.

The neonatal Fc receptor and DPP4 are human astrovirus receptors
AbstractHuman astroviruses (HAstV) are major global causes of gastroenteritis, but little is known about host factors required for their cellular entry. Here, we utilized complementary CRISPR-Cas9-based knockout and activation screening approaches and identified neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) and dipeptidyl-peptidase IV (DPP4) as entry factors for HAstV ...Harshad, Ingle +10 more

The neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) expression in the human skin
Virchows Archiv, 2007The neonatal Fc receptor, FcRn, has a wide expression within the human body, including adult cells; however, it is not ubiquitously expressed (reviewed in [2]). The receptor is involved both in IgG transcytosis as well as recycling, being able to bind both free and antigen complexed IgG molecules (reviewed in [4]). Cauza et al.

[Neonatal Fc receptor, key control of immunoglobulins biodistribution].
Medecine sciences : M/S, 2010In 1969, Brambell, while studying the long serum half-life of IgG and their ability to cross the materno-foetal barrier, attributed these two properties to the existence of a specific Fc receptor, which was later denominated FcRn for neonatal Fc receptor. The resolution of its structure revealed that it is a MHC class-I-like molecule.
