Poorly Differentiated Adenocarcinoma with Signet-ring Cell Carcinoma of the Extrahepatic Bile Duct in a 42-year-old Japanese Female: A Case Report [PDF]
Poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma without papilla or tubule formation of the extrahepatic bile duct is rare. Here we present a case (a 42-year-old Japanese woman) without either pancreatobiliary maljunction or liver disease.

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Study on invasion and migration of malignant glioma
Glioma shows diffuse infiltrative growth in the brain parenchyma. Even following the principle of "maximum safe resection", the residual tumor cells are resistant to adjuvant chemoradiotherapy and continue to invase and migrate in the brain tissue.

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Epithelial protein lost in neoplasm-α (EPLIN-α) is a potential prognostic marker for the progression of epithelial ovarian cancer [PDF]
Epithelial protein lost in neoplasm-α (EPLIN-α) is a cytoskeletal protein whose expression is often lost or is aberrant in cancerous cells and tissues and whose loss is believed to be involved in aggressive phenotypes.

Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Hypoxia helps glioma to fight therapy [PDF]
Despite major improvements in the surgical management the prognosis for patients bearing malignant gliomas is still dismal. Malignant gliomas are notoriously resistant to treatment and the survival time of patients is between 3-8 years for low-grade and

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
