Novel Extraluminal silicone tracheal stent: Development and evaluation in a rabbit model of tracheomalacia

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
A novel extraluminal silicone stent was developed and applied in a rabbit model of tracheomalacia. The stent effectively maintained airway patency and minimized tissue reaction without causing cartilage damage. This approach may offer a safe and effective alternative for treating tracheal collapse in small animals.
