Characterization of proteinase cleavage sites in the N-terminal region of the RNA1-encoded polyprotein from Arabis mosaic virus (subgroup A nepovirus)

open access: yesVirology, 2008
Arabis mosaic virus is a subgroup A nepovirus. The RNA1-encoded polyprotein (P1) contains the domains for the NTP-binding protein (NTB), VPg, proteinase (Pro) and polymerase at its C-terminus.

Synthesis and proteolytic processing of arabis mosaic nepovirus, cherry leaf roll nepovirus, and strawberry latent ringspot nepovirus proteins in reticulocyte lysate

Archives of Virology, 1991
The genomic RNA components of three nepoviruses, arabis mosaic (ArMV), cherry leaf roll (CLRV), and strawberry latent ringspot (SLRV), were translated in rabbit reticulocyte lysate. Each component (except the RNA-2 of CLRV) directed the synthesis of proteins that corresponded in size to their theoretical coding capacity.

Occurrence of grapevine chrome mosaic nepovirus in Austria

Journal of Phytopathology, 1994
AbstractA virus recovered by inoculation of sap from Austrian vines with yellow mosaic symptoms was compared with, and found virtually indistinguishable from, an authentic Hungarian isolate of grapevine chrome mosaic nepovirus. This seems to be the first record of the virus in Austria.

In vitro and in vivo evidence for differences in the protease activity of two arabis mosaic nepovirus isolates and their impact on the infectivity of chimeric cDNA clones

open access: yesVirology, 2013
Regulated processing of nepovirus polyproteins allows the release of mature proteins and intermediate polyproteins. Infectious cDNA clones of the mild NW isolate of arabis mosaic virus (ArMV) and chimeric clones incorporating RNA1 segments of Lv, a ...

Amino-acid sequence comparison of nepovirus coat proteins

Virus Genes, 1992
The amino acid sequence of the coat proteins of several nepoviruses was determined by a combination of peptide and nucleic acid sequencing (grapevine fanleaf virus, arabis mosaic virus, tomato blackring virus, grapevine chrome mosaic virus). These sequences were compared and showed homologies ranging from 10% to 69%, and 96.7% for the two arabis mosaic

Sequence analysis of grapevine isolates of Raspberry ringspot nepovirus

Archives of Virology, 2005
The nucleotide sequences of RNAs 1 and 2 of a German isolate of Raspberry ringspot virus (RpRSV) infecting grapevine (RpRSV-Grapevine), as well as partial sequences of another grapevine isolate from Switzerland (RAC815) were determined. The sequences of the protease-polymerase region encoded by RNA1, and the movement protein and coat protein genes ...

Detection of Nepovirus Vector and Nonvector Xiphinema Species in Grapevine

2015
Fanleaf degeneration is considered the most damaging viral disease of grapevine. The two major nepoviruses involved are Grapevine fanleaf virus (GFLV) and Arabis mosaic virus (ArMV) which are respectively and specifically transmitted by the dagger nematodes Xiphinema index and X. diversicaudatum.

Properties of a previously undescribed grapevine nepovirus from Tunisia

Archives of Virology, 1992
A virus with isometric particles c. 30 nm in diameter and angular contour was isolated by inoculation of sap from a Tunisian grapevine with mild mottling and leaf deformation. The virus sedimented in sucrose density gradients as three components: T (empty shells), M (particles containing a molecule of ssRNA with an apparent size of 5,800 nucleotides ...
