Gastric neuroendocrine neoplasms: A review

open access: yesWorld Journal of Clinical Cases, 2021
Gastric neuroendocrine neoplasms (g-NENs) or neuroendocrine tumors are generally slow-growing tumors with increasing incidence. They arise from enterochromaffin like cells and are divided into four types according to clinical characteristic features. Type 1 and 2 are gastrin dependent, whereas type 3 and 4 are sporadic.

Uncovering G Protein‐Coupled Receptors: Novel Targets and Biomarkers for Predicting Glioma Prognosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Low‐grade gliomas (LGG) exhibit significant heterogeneity and recurrence risk. G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCR) contribute to glioma malignant progression, but their prognostic value remains unclear. This work attempts to formulate a GPCR‐based outcome‐predicting model for LGG. Methods Based on TCGA LGG data, the enrichment scores

Dual‐Responsive Dynamic Covalent Bond‐Based Assembly of Lipid‐Nanozyme Systems via Multi‐Target Synergy and Efficient Target Enrichment for Ischemic Stroke Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This system adopts a biomimetic phospholipid structure, covalently binding iNOS inhibitors, neuroprotective agent PCA and vitamin E derivatives through pH/ROS dual‐responsive bonds, and assembles them with Prussian blue nanozyme to form PBB@AHA. It can efficiently penetrate the blood‐brain barrier and simultaneously release multiple active components ...

Inhibition of SIRT7 Overcomes Radioresistance in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors by Reactivating MEN1 Expression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors frequently silence MEN1 through epigenetic mechanisms. Here, SIRT7 recruits DNMT1 to the MEN1 promoter, drives hypermethylation, and enhances DNA repair. Inhibiting SIRT7 restores MEN1, reduces MRN complex abundance, impairs double‐strand break repair, and sensitizes PanNET models to radiation, supporting SIRT7 as a ...

Tumor‐Derived Alpha‐1 Antitrypsin Promotes Liver Metastasis of Colorectal Cancer Through the Neutrophil Extracellular Traps–CCDC25 Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Liver metastasis is a leading cause of mortality in colorectal cancer (CRC), where the inflammatory tumor microenvironment, specifically neutrophil infiltration, significantly promotes metastatic colonization. This study reveals a pro‐metastatic role for alpha‐1 antitrypsin (A1AT) in CRC liver metastasis via a dual mechanism involving ...

Epidemiologic Trends and Factors Associated With Overall Survival for Patients With Hepatobiliary Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in the United States

open access: yesCancer Reports
Background Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) constitute a heterogeneous group of rare tumors that most commonly originate from the gastrointestinal tract and lungs, with a consistently rising global incidence over recent decades.

Full‐Body AI Agent: A Perspective on Multi‐Scale Collaborative AI for Systemic Biology and Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We propose the Full‐Body AI Agent, a multi‐scale collaborative framework with 7 biological‐layer agents. It unifies multi‐omics/clinical data via standardized protocols, enabling phenotype‐guided closed‐loop reasoning, quantitative evaluation, and LLM safeguards, with promising applications in tumor metastasis modeling and precision drug development ...

Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule (EpCAM) Expression in Human Tumors: A Comparison with Pan-Cytokeratin and TROP2 in 14,832 Tumors

open access: yesDiagnostics
EpCAM is expressed in many epithelial tumors and is used for the distinction of malignant mesotheliomas from adenocarcinomas and as a surrogate pan-epithelial marker.

The European Neuroendocrine Tumour Society registry, a tool to assess the prognosis of neuroendocrine neoplasms.

open access: yes, 2022
BACKGROUND Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) are rare tumours with variable clinical behaviour. Their natural history is ideally best approached in large, multicentre and multinational registries with long-term patients' follow-up.
