CLINICAL OBSERVATIONS ON THE NEUROMUSCULAR BLOCKING ACTION OF ORG 9426, A NEW STEROIDAL NON-DEPOLARIZING AGENT

open access: yesBritish Journal of Anaesthesia, 1990
The neuromuscular blocking effects of Org 9426, the 2-morpholino, 16-allyl-pyrrolidino derivative of the 3-desacetoxy analogue of vecuronium have been investigated in anaesthetized patients. Based on data from a pilot study, two doses, 250 and 500 micrograms kg-1 (estimated as the ED90 and 2 x ED90, respectively) were chosen.

Germine monoacetate and 3-chloro-2,5,6,-trimethyl-benzoic acid; Therapeutic possibilities against inhibition of neuromuscular transmission by organophosphorus anticholinesterase compounds

open access: yes, 1971
The effects of germine monoacetate and 3-chloro-2,5,6,-trimethyl-benzoic acid (Na-U23223) on the respiratory paralysis caused by DFP and paraoxon were studied in anaesthesized, atropinised rats.

Steroidal monoquaternary ammonium salts with non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking activity

open access: yes, 1967
A series of ten 2β- or 3α-steroidal monoquaternary ammonium salts, having androstane or pregnane skeletons and related in structure to acetylcholine by possession of an oxygen function on the carbon atom next but one to the quaternary nitrogen atom, were

Analytical model of some pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of fazadinium in man

open access: yes, 1983
The neuromuscular blocking characteristics and plasma concentration decay of fazadinium bromide, a short acting, non-depolarizing muscular relaxant, were simultaneously observed under standardised conditions in 6 healthy, anaesthetized, adult patients ...

A novel approach to reversal of neuromuscular blockade

open access: yes, 2009
Postoperative residual curarization is still a problem of the modern anesthesia. Neostigmine is not the safest drug that allows a safe decurarization, especially when neuromuscular transmission monitoring is not used.

The neuromuscular blocking effect of trimetaphan alone and in combination with different non-depolarizing muscle relaxants in the rat

open access: yes, 1987
The effect of trimetaphan alone and in combination with pancuronium, tubocurarine or metocurine (dimethyl tubocurarine) has been examined on the rat phrenic nerve diaphragm preparation.

Nicotinic transmission and drugs in anesthesia : neuromuscular blocking agents and propofol : consequences for carotid body function

open access: yes, 2006
The carotid body is the global oxygen sensor of the human body. Acute hypoxia elicits instant hyperventilation mediated from the carotid body type 1 cells, where nicotinic transmission is a key component in oxygen sensing and signalling.

Interactions between suxamethonium and non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking-drugs

open access: yes, 1994
In anaesthetized cats, we have confirmed that previously injected suxamethonium potentiates non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking drugs whereas, when injected during the block, suxamethonium antagonizes the paralysis. We have attempted to explain these

The effect of non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents on the release of acetylcholine from the right atrium of the guinea pig

open access: yes
The effect of various non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents (gallamine, pancuronium, vecuronium, d-tubocurarine, metocurine, atracurium and pipecuronium) on [3H] acetylcholine release in the response to field electrical stimulation was ...
