BDNF Outperforms TrkB Agonist 7,8,3′-THF in Preserving the Auditory Nerve in Deafened Guinea Pigs
In deaf subjects using a cochlear implant (CI) for hearing restoration, the auditory nerve is subject to degeneration, which may negatively impact CI effectiveness. This nerve degeneration can be reduced by neurotrophic treatment.

Preliminary study on electrophysiological changes after cellular autograft in age-related macular degeneration [PDF]
Background: Evolving atrophic macular degeneration represents at least 80% of all macular degenerations and is currently without a standardized care. Autologous fat transplantation (AFT) efficacy was demonstrated by several studies, since these cells are

This system adopts a biomimetic phospholipid structure, covalently binding iNOS inhibitors, neuroprotective agent PCA and vitamin E derivatives through pH/ROS dual‐responsive bonds, and assembles them with Prussian blue nanozyme to form PBB@AHA. It can efficiently penetrate the blood‐brain barrier and simultaneously release multiple active components ...

Neurotrophic Effects of Genipin on Neuro2a Cells
We have found that genipin, a herbal iridoid compound, can induce neurite outgrowth in rat pheochromocytoma PC12h cells. In this study, we examined the neurotrophic effects of genipin in mouse neuroblastoma Neuro2a cells. Genipin significantly induced neurite outgrowth in a concentration-dependent manner in Neuro2a cells cultured in serum-free medium ...

A Soft, Flexible Implant for Wireless Photothermal–Pyroelectric Neurostimulation
A replication strategy is used to enlarge the exposed surface area of barium titanate within flexible films with embedded carbon nanotubes, enabling efficient photothermal‐pyroelectric stimulation. Polar crystalline nanosheets show superior performance in guiding neural progenitor cells toward neuronal differentiation.

RGS14 (414)-mediated prevention of an episodic memory loss: a study of molecular mechanism [PDF]
A large proportion of human populations suffer memory impairments either caused by normal aging or afflicted by diverse neurological and neurodegenerative diseases. Memory enhancers and other drugs tested so far against memory loss have failed to produce

Plasma REST: a novel candidate biomarker of Alzheimer's disease is modified by psychological intervention in an at-risk population. [PDF]
The repressor element 1-silencing transcription (REST) factor is a key regulator of the aging brain's stress response. It is reduced in conditions of stress and Alzheimer's disease (AD), which suggests that increasing REST may be neuroprotective.

Human‐relevant methods are essential for modern chemical safety assessment. This study helps define the capabilities and boundaries of an in vitro testing battery for developmental neurotoxicity by exploring its biological applicability domain. By linking neurodevelopmental disease‐related pathways to key neurodevelopmental processes, the work enhances
