The Cytoplasmic MicroRNA‐Production Complex Regulates MicroRNA Sorting to Extracellular Vesicles During Synaptogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanisms of microRNA cargo sorting to extracellular vesicles, important mediators of cell communication, are not fully understood. This study reveals that the microRNA‐production machinery acts as a ‘hub’ for the sorting of microRNAs to extracellular vesicles, a process regulated by dynamic organelle interactions.

PBRM1 Deficiency in Microglia Leads to Excessive Neurogenesis and Autism‐Like Behaviors via the CCL5‐CCR1/5‐β‐catenin Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microglial PBRM1 deficiency drives excessive hippocampal neurogenesis by enhancing CCL5–CCR1/5 signaling, leading to autism‐like behaviors. A pro‐inflammatory IL1α+/TNFα+ microglial subset is identified as a key cellular contributor to this process. PBRM1 represses Ccl5 expression at the transcriptional level.

A Dual‐Functional Nanoplatform Targeting the dsDNA–cGAS Axis to Mitigate Disc Degeneration and Aberrant Innervation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RU@PEI‐ZIF integrates dsDNA scavenging with local cGAS inhibition to suppress the dsDNA–cGAS–STING/Netrin‐1 axis in intervertebral disc degeneration. By attenuating nucleus pulposus cell senescence, inflammatory and matrix‐catabolic responses, and pathological sensory innervation, this dual‐functional nanoplatform preserves disc integrity and reduces ...

Examining changes in serum levels of Irisin and Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor in inactive middle-aged men in two phases of training and detraining [PDF]

open access: yesMajallah-i Dānishgāh-i ’Ulūm-i Pizishkī-i Īlām
Introduction:  Resistance training increases irisin and brain-derived neurotrophic factor secretion, impacting myogenic regulatory factors and muscle function, but maintaining these adaptations remains a challenging challenge.

Maternal Hyperglycemia Disrupts Cerebral Cortex Development Through the Foxp1‐Dll1‐Notch Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Maternal hyperglycemia disrupts offspring cortical development through a Foxp1–Dll1–Notch signaling axis. In a PGDM mouse model, intrauterine hyperglycemia decreases cortical thickness and perturbs neuronal layering by downregulating Foxp1, which transcriptionally regulates the Notch ligand Dll1.

Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor and cognitive markers in subjects with Alzheimer’s disease

open access: yesRevista Habanera de Ciencias Médicas
Introduction: The brain derived neurotrophic factor is a neurotrophin modulator of cognitive processes. Current studies in Alzheimer’s disease patients show alterations in biomarkers at outlying levels.

Precision Nanomedicine for Traumatic Neural Injury: Functional Paradigms and Translational Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review presents a pathology‐driven framework unifying nanomedicine across TBI, SCI, and PNI. Epidemiological evidence and comparative single‐cell transcriptomic reanalysis define shared pathological modules, injury‐specific effectors, and therapeutic bottlenecks. Six functional paradigms connect nanomaterial structure and biological fate to injury‐

Sacral Neural Crest‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles Promote Pelvic Ganglion Repair Through Anti‐Pyroptotic Effects Involving ANXA1–FPR2 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Extracellular vesicles derived from human pluripotent stem cell‐derived sacral neural crest cells promote repair of injured major pelvic ganglia and improve colorectal function. These vesicles reduce oxidative stress and pyroptosis, with ANXA1–FPR2 signaling contributing to their protective effects, and show a favorable therapeutic profile compared ...

AKAP1 Protects Retinal Ganglion Cells and Preserves Vision by Improving Mitochondrial and Synaptic Health in Glaucomatous Neurodegeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Intravitreal AAV2‐mediated AKAP1 restoration enhances mitochondrial fusion and biogenesis, improves bioenergetic capacity, and preserves mitochondrial integrity in glaucomatous RGCs. AKAP1 stabilizes presynaptic structure, maintaining synaptic protein expression, and limiting complement‐associated neuroinflammation.
